I booked this apartment and on the day after driving for such long hours, i tried to check in and it says i dont have a reversation. I had to look for another hotel to stay in that night.

Horrible

I arrived on 24 October 2025 from Booking reservation at Guesthouse Lochergut and found the room in a disgusting, uninhabitable state, empty beer canns, dirty floors, trash everywhere, and a very unclean bathroom. The room was clearly not ready for guests. Had to rebook another accommodation late at night (around 23:00) because it was impossible to stay there. The new booking was much more expensive, and I received no help or refund so far. Worse, the property never replied to my calls, messages, or emails and still waiting them to come back to me... Completely unacceptable experience. If you care about hygiene, professionalism, or basic respect for guests, avoid this place.

Do not book if you’re searching for a reliable place to stay.

I’ve stayed at Guesthouse Lochergut before and liked the location close to a lot of cool bars and restaurants. The facilities are basic, but relatively clean.

The check-in terminal did not work and I couldn’t get into my room. The “hotline” didn’t work and I couldn’t reach anyone. I ended up having to book a nearby hotel for double the price to not be on the streets at night.

Perfect little apartment in a perfect location, but you’re flying solo without being able to get a hold of the managemen

It was very clean, contemporary, good location, and your little private apartment during your stay. There is a lift, but there isn’t signage. It’s behind the wall on the other side of the stairs. Didn’t see it and lugged my stuff up three flights of stairs just to see it as I got to my door!

I couldn’t get a hold of anybody. Left numerous messages, made many phone calls, and never got a response. It’s a very electronic stay. The automatic check-in was easy to use, but the entire time I was there I kept thinking what if I lose my key?! There was no way to get in contact with anyone about anything. Usually you can check-in or out early or late if they have the room available. But I found this impossible. Ended up leaving my backpack at a café across the street until I was able to get my key. Also, I wish they provided some toiletries. Luckily I had a little of my own soap, shampoo, and conditioner.

An awful three days without wifi and almost choking from the smell of smoke in the room.

The location was good.

There is no wifi. Also, there was the smell of smoke in the room. The guesthouse is just above a restaurant. I contacted the management both through the Booking app and by phone. They never got back to me.

The reviews don't lie

Location ist excellent. Tram stops directly in front of the building, everything is within walking distance. Lidl is 5 mins away so easy to get groceries

Wifi is supposed to be included. WiFi code in the room is not available. Host does not answer neither via message nor via phone. Bed is completely worn out, you can feel the bedframe. Nothing is complimentary like shampoo or shower gel. Toilet paper had to be searched for as holder is broken off. Room is very warm, however when you open the windows you hear the very loud main street. Smell of pizza everywhere.

Door didn’t open and there was no customer Support

This was my second booking at this property. First experience was excellent. Second experience was a nightmare. After printing the card, the door simply decided not to open! This thing happened to me along with other two people! The three of us tried to call the property and there was no answer!!! I had to call booking.com to help me on this issue. However, even booking.com got no answer. So, we had to book another reservation in the same day! In Zürich! One of the most expensive cities in the World. I wouldn’t book this place again never!! It was a total waste of time and money!!

Decent enough

I mainly needed a place to sleep alone, but having a kitchen in the room was a great addition. If you don't have a lot of money spare for the food at restaurants, you have the option of cooking something small, which is really nice to have! The location is really great - only 8 minutes from the local train station (Wiedikon) to the Zurich HB. You could also walk to the city center by foot, which we did multiple times, and the area is lovely by itself.

My main concern was a shower door not closing properly, so the water would leak everywhere, and I hope the host fixes it. The bed was squeaking horribly, but it's bearable. A notice, for everybody who will be staying in the summer, it might get hot inside at night, because there's a lot of noise coming in from the street outside, including the very loud tram. But it was bearable.

Strong smell from the kebab shop underneath, and the fridge's smell was nasty. Host never answered!

Location and size of the place were good

The smell of the fridge and the room in general was genuinely shocking. And the service from the host was horrible, a scammer to say the least. I wanted to complain about the fridge because I need a refrigerator that doesn't smell like sh*t, but would never answer any calls or messages, honestly disgusting.

No Wi-Fi

The location is amazing. It is well situated near Zürich HB station. There are so many restaurants around. The location is exactly what I've imagined of my stay in Europe

However, WiFi is a BIG PROBLEM. FROM MY PERSPECTIVE, it kinda ruined my stay. I had to go to Zürich HB station to complete some of the tasks I had to do, like planning the next steps of my trip. I have seen a couple of people complaining about the same issue. I called them, and all they said was: "we are going to look into it." But nobody actually did because there was not any follow-up. So it gave me a vibe of "just deal with it," or they already know about it because, like I said, I've seen people complaining about it. Also, nobody would communicate with you if you tried to reach through Booking.com, which is strange to me. I had a hard time checking in because of the language barrier, but that's on me, I guess. It's so unfortunate that this detail ruined such a nice spot. Also, this is just a suggestion, if they can have a small portable fan in the room, it could be nice. Because it can get hot inside.

The hosts NEVER answered any question. No Wifi code available - no response, lethal open power cable in the kitchen - no response. The room was clean, but the staircase is greasy and stinks of old fat!!!

Room was ok, clean in Convenireasonable condition obviously intended for medium to long stay students. Close to old part of town.

The facitilies, shower, loo, kitchen were shared. This was not made clear: I would not have stayed if I had known this. I was charged an extra "service charge' which was NOT made clear when I booked and was almost as much as the advertised rent; there was no service. The room was up 4 flights of stairs, no lift. It was difficult to find as road names are only shown near the property. It was noisy because of a swift flowing river adjacent to the building.

Nice and clean, central, private, modern and simple. It was a wonderful place to stay. Self check in would have been simple enough if what went wrong hadn’t have gone wrong!

The self check-in kiosk coded my keycard wrong when I first checked in so it didn’t work when I tried to enter the building. I tried calling the contact number a few times but had heard they were hard to reach, (they were impossible to reach) so ended up telling the machine I ‘lost’ my card and got a new one for free- this one worked fine! So in the end no dramas. Would also recommend advertising the check-in kiosk is at the back of the building not the front :)

Very good

The location is very convenient and easy to reach. There are a supermarket and several restaurants nearby. The apartment had all what I needed and it was spacious.

Only minor thing during the online check in process. I got stuck at the payment stage although I had nothing to pay because I paid already when I booked the facility. I clicked several times to go to the next step but eventually it worked and the process itself was easy and clear.

Good accomodation but no sleep because of noise

The accommodation is very clean and well equipped (towels, dishes, microwave, water boiler, coffee machine, fridge, comfortable bed). The check in was contactless and super easy. There is a supermarket and a tram station near by.

The room was extremely noisy. The window was facing the street and trams were passing by every 10-15 minutes. I could not sleep at night. This is extremely disappointing because I asked for a quiet room far in advance and informed the staff about my sensitivity to noise. They said arranging a quiet room - not facing the street - would be possible. Upon arrival I contacted the staff but they did not respond.

The best guesthouse for the best price!

Everything was just excellent! The room is very convenient and the location is near the city centre. The room was equipped with everything that you need and even more. There is also a Nespresso coffee mashing with the capsules! I really enjoyed the the time here and will book the room in this guesthouse next time again for sure.

Excellent value for money considered it's Zürich!

Easy self check-in service at the entrance. The room was clean, comfortable bed and pillow, towels and shower facilities were provided, hot water, small desk and chair were handy, plenty of hooks and hangers to hang up clothing, with the window closed the room was quiet (otherwise usual city noise of restaurants and trams passing by). For my one night business stay the room met my needs perfectly!

The apartment was very nice, many appliances. Good location.

The constant smell from the restaurant's kitchen on the ground floor was terrible. My window was facing the yard with large garbage containers right under the window. I assume there was no such issue for rooms facing the street. The shower drain was too slow. Your feet are completely drowned in the water after 5 minutes in the shower. The self check-in system assigned me a room that was under repair. It was very confusing. I was lucky that by the moment I returned downstairs, there was a person helping other guests with the system, so I was reassigned to a different room.

Very close of Zurich HB, the bad thing is the train and cars pass by you can not sleep at all in the evening so much noise ! A bit disappointed ! No aircon as well very hot in summer !
