Le Prieuré Saint-Malo de Dinan

In an exceptional position in Dinan, a ten minute walk into the city walls or the climb down via steps to the pretty port. Parking at the property is easy and the room we booked was very spacious. A beautiful bathroom and huge bath, lots of hot water. The photos of the room we had were accurate and Jeremy and Sophie were welcoming. Nice gardens if you wanted to sit out.

We are a couple aged seventy five and the description of the room when we booked omitted to tell us we would be in the converted loft, two floors up, a gruesome climb with heavy suitcases. The bedroom door did not have a lock and the room did not have a safe to compensate for the lack of room security. The room was very warm and no air conditioning or electric fan was provided to ensure guests comfort although a couple of windows allowed a breeze to help cool the room. A mini fridge would have been a blessing as our fresh milk and yoghurt turned sour within two days. No knives or forks were provided but you had a kettle and coffee tea and sugar. Perhaps we were expected to eat out in the local restaurants The hosts are a lovely couple but these simple additions to this room would have upgraded the score to a ten. We would not have booked if we had known about the two flights of stairs, twenty years ago it would not have bothered us. A good room sadly let down by little touches. I have no idea about the rest of the property but the top floor is lacking in basic luxuries to make the most of your stay. We did enjoy our stay but it could have felt so much better.

Loved everything!

The house is very conveniently situated and is a short stroll into the beautiful town of Dinan. Views over the garden out of the upstairs windows very pleasant.

Parking instructions were vague - a clearly marked space for guests would be very useful.

Breakfast was not an option if staying in the main house

I did not book in the main house. Confirmation says 'little house' but host switched me and I was too tired to argue. Room, whilst reburbished, in main house is in the attic, up two floors, with very small windows. I have written separately via Booking.com but received no reply as yet.
