The Granary

We love everything about The Granary. Three adults and two children all catered for. We had stayed next door a few years ago and loved that but this was a pure gem. Home from home and such helpful hosts when we didn’t think we’d make our food shop delivery ! The children 7 & 10 didn’t want to leave. (Nor did the adults)

There was nothing not to like.

Great location near the lovely town of Abergavenny, set on a working farm with sheep, geese, a Shetland pony, and two peacocks & hens. It’s a wonderfully quiet spot to rest and relax after exploring the surrounding area. We were warmly greeted on arrival with freshly laid eggs and flowers, which was a lovely touch. The house was clean, fresh, with really comfortable beds and everything we needed for our stay. It’s full of beautiful character, including exposed wooden beams, while still being practical and homely with all utilities & extras. We would not hesitate to recommend it and would definitely return. This place is fantastic in the summer with its outdoor seating areas, but would also be incredibly cosy in the winter months. We also saw one of their other cottages, The Billiard Room for two people, which was also finished to a high standard. It’s only about 30 - 40 minutes from exploring the Brecon Beacons area, making it a perfect base for discovering the region. Ample parking for two cars.

We thought the property exceeded our expectations & there wasn’t anything that would put us off staying again or recommending it to others.

Great location, well appointed and thoughtfully appointed, comfy beds, very spacious.

Enough space for 6 adults and 2 dogs.

Kitchen utensils require updating as knives very unusable as we ended up using a Swiss Army knife to cut vegetables, we needed more tableware as not enough for 6 people especially if renting out over a Xmas period and mattress in 3rd bedroom was not comfy we ended up buying a bed topper. It’s a shame no info was given during the booking of the great use of the squash court on site. The folder of info in the cottage could’ve done with more info!
