The property is very close to the sea so you can walk and see the sea in about 3 minutes. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Our room was a basement family room so we were the back of nowhere but at least it was nice and quiet.
Parking was tricky as you have to double park and block people in but as our car is very long we took two spaces anyway. The room had a horrible vinegar smell , so we asked someone to check and they said they had literally only just finished adding sealant around the floor and that’s what smell was - had to leave light and extractor on you til went to sleepy. Also website states shower and hairdryer so I don’t take mine but the shower didn’t work even though there was actually two in the bathroom! And there was no hairdryer - on leaving I said this and she said you should have called - yeah there was no telephone either. The breakfast room was also in basement and was full with two OAP coach loads of people so we were pretty much ignore on waiting for seat, when did sit they got two of our breakfast wrong, forgot the tea and when we asked for stuff you could see staff rummaging around in cupboard next to us for the stock. Wasn’t professional at all and we felt like after thoughts compared to the OAPs. I get they are regular guest but we are still paying guests. All in all it was a bed for the night with a decent breakfast but I won’t stay there again.

A bit outdated rooms, but clean

We enjoyed the facilities of the hotel and sadly missed out on the bar and coffee shop but would like to return to do them. The breakfast and comfort of the room was excellent.
It would have been a nice addition to have hand soap in the basin of our room.

The only positive point was the friendly and helpful night staff (a lady at reception), who was lovely and professional. Unfortunately, everything else about the stay was below basic standards and very disappointing.
We booked a family room for 4 people, and the experience was very disappointing. When we checked in, we immediately noticed that the toilet had been used, toilet tissue left behind, and pee not flushed – extremely unhygienic. The bathroom floor was dirty and clearly not mopped or cleaned properly.
There were only 3 cups/glasses provided for 4 guests, and the "glasses" were flimsy one-time-use plastic ones wrapped in plastic – we still can’t understand why. The toilet flush had very poor water pressure and barely worked, and the shower area drained so slowly that we had to stop and wait for the water to go down before continuing our shower. On our last day we used the public toilet (as it was super better); though we informed the receptionists, but nothing sorted!!!
Amenities were almost nonexistent – apart from tea bags, there was nothing provided (no shampoo, no hair dryer, etc.).

We are so grateful to this hot for stepping in with availability when booking.com offered us a hotel (the russel court) which was an immigrant hostel in very poor repair and nothing like the quality it was advertising. We are still awaiting a refund from booking.com for this misadventure reservation.
Nothing. We had a great stay

Staff were friendly & beds were comfy!
Entertainment was enjoyable & our daughter loved it!
The hotel in general including our room was very warm! There was a fan in the room which helped slightly but could definitely do with air conditioning throughout as we felt very sweaty/ clammy during our 2 night stay especially during breakfast

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great!
The room I stayed in was leaking from the ceiling earlier in the morning!
The family room was very hot for the weather, but there was only one small table fan for the entire room!

The location wasn't great. However, it was closer to dual carriage way for a quick get away
The hotel reception staff were rude and unhelpful. People skills were lacking in terms of communication.
The room was located on the lower ground, where extra mattresses were kept. Stairs and the hall smelt of urine.
We reserved a family room with one double and two single beds. One single bed was a fold up bed with a very thin mattress, which was totally unlike the pictures on the booking site.

During our recent stay, we encountered an issue with the receptionist, Victoria. She charged us an additional £50 because my two-year-old son accidentally dropped pillows on the floor. She insisted that we must keep the room tidy before leaving and was quite aggressive, raising her voice as if we were arguing. I calmly explained that I had paid the £50 and there was no need to shout, especially at 8 AM.
Additionally, I asked if I could leave my car parked until 3 PM, to which she initially agreed, provided I parked at the end of the road to avoid blocking others. However, she later demanded that I move my car, threatening to call the police if I did not comply.
While the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful, I was surprised by Victoria's rude and unprofessional behavior. When we spoke to one of the managers, they mentioned that she behaves this way with all customers, which raises concerns about why she is still employed in this role.

The staff were great, the location great. The breakfast was cheap for what it was. We were able to park there for free which was a bonus considering how close it was to the main town/ beach etc.
The room had pealing wall paper and the shower had poor pressure. We were in a family room which must have been directly above the bar which had music on very loud till half 11 on a Tuesday night, so not ideal for kids getting to sleep.

Room 306 was really small for a couple. My relatives were not able to take a bath comfortably and the room was not tidy.

Nothing
Toilet hardly flushed, mouldy shower , staff at desk was rude as she didn't take the payment online and made us feel uncomfortable saying we was going to go without paying so I told my partner to wait at the desk and gave them my car keys while I got my card and made us feel like we done something wrong . Horrible overpriced hotel outdated looked like I was in the 50s

I liked that the beds were comfortable and the rooms where very clean.
The staff seem to be on a different planet. At first they couldn't find my booking, then they have us a key for a room and sent us off upstairs when the room was on the ground floor. Luckily when we got back at 1am there was someone to let us in, but 15mins later my friend couldn't get outside to go for a smoke, as there was no one about. We went to bed and at around 3am 2 men opened our hotel door as I believe they thought it was there room, which obviously shook us as we are 2 females in a confined area. They looked embarresed and quickly left. Then at 9:30am a cleaner burst into the room, and was also surprised to see us. I called reception to report this and ask for a late checkout, so to catch up on the disturbed sleep I had. The lady on reception said that after speaking to the manager that we could. Only to find on checkout that all of this was news to the manager. I said it's pretty serious to have strange men being able to let them selves in and it made is feel very uncomfortable. With that he said he would investigate and get back to me with a phone call...... And I am still waiting for the call. Its a real putty, as the hotel is nothing fancy, but is perfectly fine for a short stay, its clean. Good location, but the staff are absolute space cadets!

For us a different sort of hotel - used for groups of older customers brought to the hotel through the Daishs group. Normally offer fantastic value for breaks that include transport, accommodation, entertainment and half board. We went via bookings.com just to get a room for the night and found that we could with the Sands for £199 room only. Because of its location and reasonable reviews we booked. It was the weekend of the Bournemouth Air Show and rooms were hard to find. We were pleased that the hotel let us take our evening meal and breakfast for a very modest extra. What did we like?
- The position of the hotel
- Guest parking is free
- Staff are very friendly and helpful
- room - neat and clean
- the evening entertainment
- the facilities -bar, terrace, coffee shop
The food could have been better. Nothing wrong with it at all - and amazing to get breakfast for a fiver and 3 course evening meal for a tenner. This obviously constrains what is served. I reckon that the Sands could do well to “up their game” a bit. Their customers are now experiencing cruise catering which is so much better.
The snacks in the coffee shop are very basic. A toasted ham and cheese sarni for about £4 uses the cheapest possible ingredients. White bread from a supermarket 50p loaf - wafter thin ham and a slice of processed cheees. The coffee however was excellent

Entertainment was very good ,night porter particularly helpful and engaging
Breakfast was adequate but not particularly special .we were impressed by the restaurant but in the morning we were told that there was no room for us there and we were served in the coffee shop.It would appear that priority is given to coach parties
