Charming residence in the heart of Old Lyon

The host was very helpful and stayed back late to let us in, also showing us to the property and guiding us on the surrounding areas, great places to eat and drink and other helpful tips. The apartment was well-appointed, spotlessly clean, comfortable, and beautifully set up to make us feel very much at home.

The apartment was a bit cold at times. The host mentioned that we could ask to turn the heat up, so this is our issue for not doing so. There are a few stairs to climb down into the apartment - this didn't bother us, but it may be a consideration for some. It was also a bit difficult to find the apartment in the building (which is a beautiful old castle-like structure), but as mentioned, the host was very helpful and met us in person to guide us and explain everything, so this wasn't an issue.

Be fit and able bodied with the amount of steps

The host was fabulous with great info on Lyon. The bed was comfortable bearing in mind its 52 steps down to room from front door after the 25O steps up from town. We lost weight - no need for gym 😀. The water was hot for shower. A great historic little room.

The room smelt badly of damp / mould ( we had to leave window open ) and bins were not empty from previous guest which made us apprehensive of the clean.

In my opinion, it's a very good vacation apartment, just a stone's throw from the old town, equipped with everything you need, cozy, and furnished with great attention to detail. The owner is GREAT! Simple and fast communication and She does everything to make her guests feel like home :) Since parking is VERY expensive in Lyon, practically anywhere, you can also rent the garage for €35 per day, additionally and directly from the owner. But be careful, not every car will fit in the box garage in the old town, so it's VERY IMPORTANT to check the dimensions of the garage with the dimensions of your vehicle! You also need to have the necessary parking skills ;)

Of course, where a lot of people go in and out, there is wear and tear and you don't always have to replace/renew everything straight away, but one or two things would need an upgrade in my opinion, do make the stay perfect.

Beautiful location and very welcoming hosts.

Perfect location. Oreliane and her niece Maylou were charming and extremely helpful. They replied to messages immediately and provided a long list of restaurant and visit recommendations. The location is perfect for visiting the Basilique and is a short walk into the old part of Lyon. The uphill walk to the apartment is a bit sporty, so bring your walking shoes!

A gem in the old town of Lyon!

We couldn't have asked for a better time at this gorgeous apartment! Located right in the old town of Lyon, it's ideal for a short getaway as a couple. Oréliane went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and share her recommendations for the city. We were only there for a very short while, but were able to make the most of our trip thanks to Oréliane -- we particularly welcomed her amazing suggestions for eateries! The apartment itself is beautifully furnished, well-equipped and so cosy, offering a wonderfully quiet night's sleep after a busy day exploring. A real bonus was visits from Duchess the cat! We had only just unpacked our bags on the first day and were already discussing when we could come back and stay in this apartment again, as we loved it so much! Couldn't have been happier :)

A true gem in the heart of town

Phenomenal experience. The hostess is enthusiastic and absolutely charming. The apartment is quiet, in a beautiful old building and tastefully decorated with lots of little treasures. Parking is right in front of the house but is on the smaller side. Superb location in the old part of town, but the city is so easily walkable that you can cross any number of bridges into other sections of town as well. Some of the best bakeries and restaurants are only a few blocks away.

No complaints whatsoever. Definitely bookmark this property when visiting the area!

A nice location, a comfortable apartment.

First of all, the hostess Oreliane is very hospitable. She explained everything clearly, showed us where there is convenient parking (not a trivial task in Lyon). And she always smiled. Which is also not often in the service in France. And she also has excellent English. The apartment is a small studio in a medieval building. But the renovation is new modern. We moved in together with our son. And we were comfortable.

Amazing room, great location, wonderful views, and the host Oréliane gave great recommendations. We had pastry from a cafe she recommended and it was the most delicious pastry we’ve ever had!! Would stay again any time.

Gorgeous apartment in historic building. Fantastic location for seeing the historic spots in Lyon. The owner was very friendly, welcoming, and a lovely hostess. She also provided many great local recommendations. Great view of the city from our room. Lovely full kitchen, which is great for a longer stay.

A nice little retreat in the heart of the town designed with lot of Inspirationen of the host.

You can really emerge into this town, living under same roof as the locals in an old palace. The host was really exceptional. Her tips were our perfect guide for exploring the city.

All good. Just be aware of the location: you need to climb up the hill and there are plenty of steps in the house. Not a thing for everybody!

Vieux Lyon - good experience!

Original Vieux Lyon studio, well converted. Good facilities and very peaceful. Up many steps so need to be fit! It’s half way up Vieux Lyon towards the Basilica. Really intersecting are. Host very attentive and informative.

Very quiet and comfortable, lots of nice touches and the host, Oreliane, gave us great suggestions for restaurants and sightseeing. Easy check in and out, no problem being picked up / dropped off by Uber. Apartment is part way up the hill towards the Cathedral, was good exercise walking up/down the road and stairs from central Old Town.

The host was amazing! She adapted to my check-in time and gave me a bunch of recommendations for things to do around the city and would check in regularly to make sure I wasn’t missing anything. The apartment was amazing! So cozy and so clean, I felt right at home. This made my stay in Lyon so smooth and enjoyable.

There are some stairs to climb if getting back to the apartment by foot which are not for everyone, but I didn’t mind them at all :)

You have only 3 hours to check in

The room is in a good location, right in the city center.

The check-in hours are only 3 hours. From 4:00pm to 7:00pm. This was not announced on booking.com prior to booking the room, and it indeed was a problem for me. The host was very clear in her whatsapp messages that earlier or later check in would not be accepted. The room is nothing special. It is true that the building is a historical one, but the room is in the basement with no view. You are expected to carry your luggage by hand in order to not disturb the neighbors. There is no parking space. If you are lucky, you may find a parking spot in the street; but if you are not lucky, being that street, a one-way street, you need to go round the whole cith center block once again, looking for a free spot again. This, too, is a problem. The distance to the fair is to much in the rush hours. The traffic in Lyon is really a nightmare; especially if you are navigating with a navigator: becasue you need to know if you are going to turn left or right way before the intersection, as the left-turning and right-turning lanes do not allow changing lanes. So if you are go to Lyon to work in the fair, I do not recommend this room.
