Old Lyon: beautiful apartment 125 m2 / 180 views / Garden

We had a wonderful week in Lyon with our adult children. This property is in a superb location, although you do need to be reasonable fit to manage the 140+ steps (which are part of a Traboules - so interesting in themselves). However it is worth it, because it is such a lovely setting. We hadn't expected the wonderful view we would have from the three large windows in the sitting room, which was a lovely surprise. It was beautiful both by day and night. It is well located (within a UNESCO world heritage site) close to lots of interesting sites, museums and next to the metro station. This host and this apartment taken together were one of the best travel experiences we have ever had. First, the apartment. We were travelling with our two adult kids and their significant others. We each had our own bedroom and shared the giant beautiful bathroom and separate toilet. The kitchen and living space, and all the rooms for that matter, look out high above the city of Lyon facing the morning sun. The living/dining room is really big and we were able to entertain all of our son's friends (he was a student for a semester in Lyon). The apartment is located on one of the old "taboules" or passageways from one street to another. Only this one is many stories high. You can park above the apartment and approach from the top, coming down two flights to get to the apartment. Or you can walk up from the middle of Vieux Lyon - seven flights up! We are in our 50s/60s but in reasonably good shape and did it at least twice a day. It is a beautiful stairway/passageway some of which dates back to the Renaissance! Now, about Emmanuelle (Emma). This is her home and she also has a smaller apartment one story below. When she has guests like us who need more space, she moves down to the lower apartment with her 8 year old twins. So the apartment has lots of books and toys tucked away. It would be perfect for kids. She has a whole basket full of guide books and maps about Lyon that we found very helpful. She was happy to give us directions and if there was a problem, she was on the spot to fix it. I felt like I had made a new friend. Her English is perfect, but we tried our French on her too. She defines graciousness. The kitchen is well equipped and we were able to cook a lot. Emma also left us bread, butter, jam and coffee. The confiture was very good. We were there in winter, but there is a lovely outdoor garden, also overlooking the city. If what defines a good rental is comfort, you are going to feel perfectly at home in this place. Wonderful

Our week at Emma's place was really great! The apartment is beautiful and spacious with a lovely garden. It is situated in the great vieux Lyon and only a short walk over to bellecour. Emma was a lovely and kind host with a load of tips on where to eat and drink in Lyon. We really did not want to leave!

Emanuelle is the best host you can imagine! Shemade us feel very welcome and told us some beautiful places I would never find myself. Also the appartement was even more beautiful than on the pictures. We had a great stay, thanks!

We had a wonderful week staying in Emma's very comfortable and spacious apartment. The apartment has warmth, personality, character and has amazing views over the city. Only downside is there are a lot of stairs when coming up from the old city, but that was good for us to help work off some of the Lyonais food! We loved being right in Vieux Lyon, but it was so quiet, and had a modern kitchen good for cooking dinners. The beds were comfortable and the shower was excellent. Our children were happy there as well- and Emma is super friendly and a great host. We would certainly stay again if visiting Lyon. Thanks very much. Justin.

Appartement atypique, mais typiquement lyonnais! Vue superbe, situation excellente, accueil nickel (encore merci à Violette pour son aide!). Tous les hôtes étaient bluffés par la location!

Beaucoup de cachet, une localisation parfaite au cœur des traboules lyonnais, un appart chaleureux , une très bonne organisation et une vue de la charmante terrasse dont on ne doit pas se lasser au quotidien ! Calme assuré et à respecter !

Nous avons passé un superbe séjour dans la maison d'Emmanuelle. La vue imprenable sur Lyon a rendu le séjour un peu magique. En revanche ne convient pas pour les personnes a mobilités réduites du fait des difficultés d'accès caractéristiques du Vieux Lyon. Je recommande ++

appartement spacieux, ameublement hétéroclite , pas du tout de placards pour les hôtes, propreté plus que douteuse, mais un petit jardin ,rarissime en plein Lyon, avec une vue époustouflante sur toute la ville , où nous avons passé notre temps, grâce à la météo plus que clémente. L’accès est sportif, escalier extérieur abrupt, à déconseiller par mauvais temps! Mais malgré tous ses défauts , nous avons apprécié ce séjour, pour son calme , sa situation , son panorama , et nos petits déjeuners dans le jardin.

Super dejlig beliggenhed i den gamle bydel - det er bare ned af trapperne (i mange kringlede gange og trin) så er man lige i den mest spændende bydel i Lyon - med masser af liv, cafèer mm. samt det meste indenfor gåafstand i Vieux Lyon og i den lidt yngre bydel mellem Saone og Rhone floderne.

L'appartement lumineux et confortable est très bien situé dans Lyon et permet de visiter la ville à pied. Le métro en bas de la rue permet un accès à la gare Part Dieu rapide. Accueil chaleureux de Paul à notre arrivée ! De même pour Emmanuelle qui a accepté de garder nos bagages à l'appartement jusqu'au soir malgré l'arrivée de nouveaux locataires! Très appréciable ! Pour nous 5, ce fut donc un joli séjour à Lyon !

Nous avons passé quelques jours à Lyon. L'appartement est super, fonctionnel et très agréable à vivre. La vue est époustouflante et nous avons aimé être dans la vieille ville et tout pouvoir faire à pieds. Nous conseillons c'est appartement et reviendrons volontiers.

Nous étions un groupe de 9 filles pour venir passer un week end sans mari et enfants entre nous. L appartement est superbe, tres lumineux. Déco sympa. On s'est cru chez nous tout de suite. La vue est magnifique. Le petit jardin tres agreable. Emmanuelle a été disponible et fort sympathique. Nous la remercions.

Ruim en licht appartement met het gezellige karakter van Franse familiewoning. Alle voorzieningen aanwezig, ook voor kinderen. (iets te weinig plaats in de kasten voor eigen kleding bij langer verblijf). Hou wel rekening met het groot aantal trappen: het appartement maakt deel uit van een "Traboule" Uitzonderlijk goede ligging: in het hart van de oude stad, vlak bij metro en winkels met een uniek uitzicht op Lyon.

Bien situé, bien équipé, avec recommander!

At bo den charmerede lejlighed med de mange trapper op gennem de gamle bygninger var den bedste oplevelse i Lyon. Haven og udsigten er ubeskrivelig. Kan klart anbefales til alle der prioritere charme over simpel komfort. God hjælp fra udlejer.

Nous etions un groupe de 9 personnes. Dans la vieul ville de Lyon nous avons trouver cet remarquable appartement. Assez de place pour nous tous, une grande table pour le repas, une terrasse avec une vue superbe.

Nous avons passé un excellent week end dans ce superbe appartement à la vue incroyable sur Lyon!!! de plus, Emmanuelle est très sympathique et arrangeante ! c’était parfait!! je recommande!

J'ai été très bien accueillie par Emmanuelle. Son appartement est magnifique ( tommettes, poutres apparentes, grandes fenêtres, chambres spacieuses), décoré avec goût et le jardin est incroyable pour le lieu ( vieux Lyon ) le clou du spectacle c'est la vue !!! Imprenable !!!! Nous avons passé un excellent week end ! Je recommande Fortement !!!

Hemos pasado un fin de semana espectacular! El apartamento de Emmanuelle MUY BIEN situado en Vieux Lyon, cerca: al Metro, a buenos restaurantes, al Funicular, a la heladeria Terre Adelice! Apartamento con todo lo necesario, tambien para familias , (viajamos dos familias con cuatro ninos!) , muy A C O G E D O R y con la MEJOR VISTA de la ciudad! Emmanuelle muy amable nos dio buenas recomendaciones y estuvo siempre atenta a nuestra llegada. R E C O M E N D A D O !!! Queremos volver! : )

L'appartement est parfaitement placé pour découvrir Lyon à pied. Nous étions 4 adultes et 1 enfant, c'était impeccable. Il est spacieux, confortable, propre et très joliment décoré. Notre hôtesse nous a super bien accueillis et s'est montrée de très bon conseil pour cette visite éclair. Bref, rien à redire. On reviendra plus longtemps à Lyon pour mieux découvrir cette ville superbe et on s'arrangera pour que ce soit chez Emmanuelle :)
