Lovely stay. Recommended

Convenient for walking to the local amenities, beautifully clean, very comfortable bedroom and bed. The owners were lovely, The breakfast and coffee was good quality and the dining room was comfortable. The bathroom was excellently appointed .We both slept very well.

A bin in the bedroom would be useful. Literally nothing else we really enjoyed our stay.

A great B&B.

We had an extremely friendly reception from Richard and Yvonne after a long day of travel. They also offered advice about where we might eat as this was the Ascension holiday period and many places were shut. Their house is a beautiful old property with thick walls which was perfect as the temperature approached 30C. Our room was nicely decorated and our bed was very comfortable. Richard and Yvonne enjoy meeting people and after spending many days struggling with our poor French and Spanish it was great to be able to chat to two Brexit refugees! Breakfast was sumptuous - too much for just the two of us and everything you could want from a Continental breakfast.

Nothing. We didn’t spend much time in Montmorillon as we were heading north. However it seemed a pleasant little town and we would want to spend more time here in the future.

A Perfect Stay

Richard & Yvonne are wonderful hosts & made us feel at home immediately. we sat in their lovely garden with them & chatted as if with old friends over a couple of glasses of wine. Our bedroom & bathroom were very comfortable & beautifully decorated. The breakfast was super with too much on offer to write down. Nothing was too much trouble for our wonderful hosts & we were sorry we weren't staying longer. Montmorillon is a lovely little town to explore with a good choice of places to eat. Also we were able to literally park opposite the front door of the house.

Warm welcome, lovely place to stay

Lovely room and a very warm welcome over a cup of tea with our hosts Richard and Yvonne at the end of our 10 day stay in France. Secure parking at the back of the house meant we didn't have to unload cases and bikes. The house is an easy stroll into the centre of pretty Montmorillon and the restaurant recommended by our hosts was excellent. Breakfast was superb in the beautifully decorated guest breakfast room.

Breakfast just right - French breakfast of fresh bread, butter, jam and pastry. Lovely coffee. Bedroom Lovely cool and clean. The bathroom was not en suite which I hadn’t realised but it was still very private and beautifully clean and new. Made me rethink automatically going for en suite in future. The location was a short walking distance to restaurant where we ate (open on a Monday, not to be taken for granted in France) and to the beautiful river running through the town. Parking no problem. Plenty of on street parking. We parked opposite the front door. Our hosts were great and very kind. Extremely good value for money.

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our 4 night stay at LBB. Richard and Yvonne are the most attentive hosts and are clearly revelling in their roles as custodians of this lovely old house. The property is being maintained to a very high standard. It’s neat, tidy and spotlessly clean and is a very comfortable and welcoming home away from home. The neighbourhood is quiet, safe and secure, so much so that we opted not to take advantage of the private car parking offered. Richard and Yvonne are well versed in the history and culture of Montmorillon and were able to offer a wealth of suggestions on where to go and what to do while visiting the département. Breakfast each day was a joy - smiles all around with the best of local produce on offer. Richard cycled to the bakery each morning to ensure we had the freshest of fresh croissants and bread. Our evenings in the garden were punctuated with shared glasses of wine and relaxed and friendly conversation. There’s an authenticity about LBB and its owners that is seldom found beyond small communities like Montmorillon.

There is nothing we didn’t like. Indeed we would love to return some day.

this was maybe the best bnb I’ve stayed in for decades, certainly the best in France. Beautifully decorated, warm (I arrived on one of the coldest nights of the year so far) large very comfortable bed, large bath, extremely clean and quiet, lovely hosts, and an enormous sumptuous breakfast. Just perfect and I didn’t actually want to leave, I would have happily gone back to bed after breakfast and just kept sleeping!

One of the better B&B's I've stayed at.

I thoroughly enjoyed my stay with Richard and Yvonne. They recommended a Vietnamese restaurant in town and Richard took me in the car and picked me up as it was raining. How lovely! The room was huge and very tastefully decorated. The bathroom was wonderful with a great shower. I will be returning as I do come to Montmorillon frequently.
