Ballarooms B&B Palermo Centro

On my Italian journey I ended up in Palermo a bit by chance. My journey started in Rome and was supposed to end in Catania. (I had already been to Sicily years ago.) However, on the eve of my return trip from Catania, the airline informed me that, due to a new volcanic eruption of Mount Etna, no planes could depart from Catania. I was offered a return from Palermo the following day. I managed to arrange to return from Palermo two days later, and then of course I had to find an overnight stay in that city. And that in the month of July… But I succeeded, and it turned out to be this B&B, which, in hindsight, I was really happy with. The host is a very friendly lady who answers all questions and provides an excellent buffet breakfast. The room and bathroom were neat, comfortable, and exactly how one would like to have them. It was very quiet there at night. I stayed in the room furthest from the breakfast room. No idea if this would make a difference. The B&B is excellently located within a short walking distance of Palermo Centrale train station. There are also trains from this station to Palermo Airport. That was quite a drive, though. The house is situated in the old town. The neighbourhood is certainly not prosperous, but I felt really safe the entire time. It is possible to leave your luggage at the B&B after checking out. Arrange this with the host! There’s a restaurant very close by. On my next visit to Palermo, I would like to stay at the same B&B.

Great location close to the centre and train station. We arrived really late at night, but check in was made easy with good communication. Breakfast was fantastic with home made pastry and cakes. The room had everything you needed. In a quiet corner of a busy city with easy access to main areas.

Nothing, the room was fab as well as the breakfast and Mariella.

Great location, 5 minutes to Palermo Centrale and 5 minutes to Quattro Canti. The breakfast was 10/10, full of interesting options and the host is a very nice lady! Loved the place and the small things it had: slippers, knitting kit, shower caps and a little library with Sicily guides in many languages.

The only thing that was off for me was the shower above the head only, but that’s maybe because I am curly, haha.

The room was lovely, beautifully designed with everything I needed. Very kind and flexible host - she let me check in early and when I had to leave early the next day prepared a packed breakfast to take away. Really good location within walking distance of the central station and all the main sites
