Really loved Switzerland, the scenery and the general warmth of the population. Wonderful to swim in the lake, visit the

Clean and tidy in a great location, slap bang in the middle of Montreux with great views of lake Geneva and right opposite a Queen tribute museum. To the right of us was where the Montreux jazz festival was occurring with its carnival atmosphere and to the left was the tranquil peace and beauty of the lake. The kitchen and bathroom facilities are spot on with an additional toilet too. Plenty of space for a family with British TV (sky) thrown in to boot which we've never had as yet anywhere else we have stayed, not that you should need it as there's just so much to do! Plenty of bars and restaurants in the area although we didn't use any. A shopping centre is a 5 min walk with Migros and Denner supermarkets for stocking up on supplies (note Migros does not sell alcoholic drinks where as Denner does). A private parking space is also available for hire in the apartment blocks underground carpark which I would strongly recommend you take advantage of if driving! Overall a great location and a pleasant host. PS save money on car hire by hiring on the French side of Geneva airport just remember to buy a vignette from the local garage for 40 CHF.

We found our bed uncomfortable as the the mattress was to hard, however we appreciate that is subjective.

I definitely recommend the apartment!

The apartment is at a very good location, close to the lake and close to the market square as well as close to a public swimming pool and a shopping center. The kitchen is equipped way better than any other holiday apartment I stayed at (kitchen ware as well as herbs, spices, jam, honey, washing powder, soap, a dish washer, table grill, clothes horse, towels). The host surprised us with a welcome-basket of fruit and snacks and a vase of lovely flowers. It is convenient that there is a small washing machine in the bathroom and a parking space in the garage. The balcony has a good size to sit outside. We appreciated that there was a separate bathroom and toilet as there were 4 of us and we thus had more space. The master bedroom has a nice big bed, wardrobe and a shutter as well as curtains which I appreciated as I can't sleep when there is no way to keep out the light.

The storage space in the two other bedrooms (apart from the master bedroom) is very limited and was too small for an adult to keep two weeks worth of clothes in. In one of the smaller bedrooms there is no shutter and the curtain only covers half of the window. Despite the great location and very nice host, the apartment is a bit expensive.
