It’s amazing! Would stay again. The place is so well kept, clean and amazing experience. The bath is so good after a long day walking. Though I bet every single person has hit there head on the light in the bed room! Takes some getting used to. ;)

There is a lot of construction going on, next door and across the road (bit noisy all day)

Cool style, clean, modern but Japanese bathroom and kitchen. Location is awesome.

The property was in a great location. Lots of cool coffee shops, little restaurants, near the Imperial palace, on the metro line, very accessible to seeing Kyoto. The craftsmanship of the property was beautiful. But this is a case where form came before function.

It was not very comfortable. The mattresses/ futons were great. This not a property for 3 adults. The 2 nd bedroom was not pleasant. Slanted roofline and no real access to fresh air since there was only a small window with no screen. None of the charm of a tatami room. The furniture upstairs looks very cool and I found it comfortable to sit on but not to relax or read. The steps upstairs were safe, but steep and the water closet is downstairs. On the main floor there were only 2 chairs by the coffee table, so again, not great for 3 people. I. Additional there is currently construction on the opposite side of the street and next door. We were there over a weekend, but definitely was annoying when we checked in on Friday. Also be aware that you check in at the Hotel Royal Park Iconic and it is a 4-5 block walk. They do not arrange to transfer your bags, although they will store them for you. The staff there is terrific.
