Our phones did not work, but our host was able to communicate with our daughter, who is stationed here in Japan. I met our host, who is very nice. My husband was going to walk down to a Lawson’s convenient store, about a 3/4 mile walk. Our host not only gave him a ride (to a closer Lawson’s), but also bought our groceries for us!!! I can’t express enough how touched and grateful we for his generosity. He also expressed that he wanted us to enjoy Japan as much as possible. We have stayed at many Vrbos and never have we had such a wonderful host. If I could give a hundred stars, I would.

This property was very clean and accommodating. Kyoshihelped us get there when customs took too long and we had a later than planned check in. We did have to walk a lot but it was entertaining to explore the beautiful neighborhood. We were welcomed into a small shrine by a sweet woman. We had our own bamboo forest next to the home and it was so quiet that we all slept well.

The property was well maintained; everything appeared to be brand new or very clean. Japanese artwork around the house added to the experience and gave it the feeling of a real traditional home. The host greeted us upon arrival and gave us a tour, using his phone to translate. The only drawback was that the nearby bus to Takeda station comes around once every hour. Overall, excellent for a stay if you plan public transport carefully in advance.
