The location is perfect with great views and walks within minutes, the house is very beautiful but still manages to be cozy
Most properties leave enough logs for one fire so you might want to consider this option

We both said there was nothing to dislike.

Excellent location, clean, well equipped
Good kitchen and bathroom
Parking bit tight and although this was probably a one off the noisy neighbours marred our stay as they were outside until the early hours

The property is in an amazing location we used it as a base for doing hikes through the Lakes District, the kitchen was very well equiped in terms of pots and pans but lacking for oil, tea coffe and those sorts of things.
The parking at the property was not a thing there was a large black car parked where you are meant to park.

Amazing location, right next to the shallow burbling river which was such a lovely sound. Cottage also located right next to an excellent walking trail with waterfalls. Had everything we wanted in the authentic comfortable cottage.
We got locked out, our own fault, as we didn't realise they were self locking doors. The only emergency number we had were for Sykes cottages, and it took 1.5 hours for them to respond to our call just after we arrived during the evening.

The location was good. Very handy to explore locally and further afield
The parking was very tight and when all the holiday cottages were occupied with their cars and some charging their cars electronically it was a challenge. supposedly there were two parking spaces allocated for the cottage, but with our one little Aygo it was very difficult to turn, I wouldn't have wanted to take two big cars. Reversing out with four other cars and the narrow space between the houses and sheds opposite would have been awful....
It was a shame that there was no welcome milk, tea, coffee, or even basket of logs provided. The kitchen had no salt pepper, kitchen foil or cling film. You had to provide everything which was a shame. It's aways nice to have a cuppa when you arrive and the local shops are a good 15 mins away.

The garden and surrounding area were incredibly beautiful in the spring when we visited. I loved having my breakfast out in the garden and looking at the little birds that come. It's right by the river which is gorgeous to walk along. The cottage was spacious and comfortable for three people. The radiators kept it warm. Good nearby food options as well, the Talbot pub does great food, and Chesters is an amazing cafe just by the river. There is a bus stop nearby as well. Kitchen was well stocked. We really enjoyed our stay.

The cottage was perfectly as described. It was very clean and had all facilities we required for the short stay.
The location was perfect to get around the lakes, and within a very short walking distance to the Talbot and Chesters by the river (we would recommend eating at both of these places).
Also parking was easy; straight infront of the back door.
We will be booking to stay again.

Cottage and surrounding views were beautiful. We were well catered for in regards to equipment. The location was perfect. Very pleasant stay. Had some minor problems which were resolved on contacting owners. Would definitely recomend.
Double bed mattress was very soft, no good if you have back issues. Fortunately there were 2 single beds in other room which were far more comfortable.

Cute little cottage with all needed facilities. Parking space for 2 smaller cars available at the back entrance. As I was there in February and it was chilly, I loved the wood stove, which was really nice to warm up the house in the evening. Good Wifi and TV with many options. The vintage interiors give it a nice homely feel. For summer days the front garden has a seating area for outdoor dinners.
I have to think hard to find negative points. Having a dishwasher would have been nice, although I didn't really miss it. Very poor mobile phone coverage in the area, but this is compensated by the fact that there is a landline for receiving calls and good Wifi available.

The location was ok.
But limited local amenities such as getting access to shops or food stalls were not easy. There wasn't much of a choice. Only limited number of options. There was only one toilet roll for four people for two nights stay.

It was a beautiful location overlooking pretty cottage garden. The rooms were spacious and comfortable and stylishly decorated. Lovely high ceilings.
The radiators were easy to modify, with clear instructions.
The kitchen was well equipped, and the freezer in the pantry was useful.
Useful information provided about local walks and places to eat / visit. All in all, a lovely few days. Thank you.
Getting in and out of the bath was ok, but a grab rail(s) might be helpful?

Location was wonderful. Cottage was beautiful. Range fireplace was wonderful.
Would have benefited from an extra toilet roll, some tea and coffee and hand soap.

The rear door could not be locked from the outside. It was very wet and the narrow lane to the property was flooded. The only way to access the hotel for a meal, was to turn left up the lane and through Chester's car park, not easy for two people in their late 70s in darkness.

lovely clean cottage in an excellent location. parking outside the door. Lots of lovely walks close by. very peaceful location. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back!
it would have been good if there had been some tea, coffee & sugar and salt & pepper left for guests to use. Also no soap in the bathroom.

Location was excellent. Beautiful views, river across the road, great cafe and hotel/restaurant close-by. Location was peaceful and plenty of local walks. Cottage was delightful with lovely garden where we were regularly visited by robins. On-site parking too! We liked the info about how the cottage got its name and pointers for walks. We would definitely stay there again.
Minor things really but compared to other places we've stayed, Edna's was possibly a bit sparse; a few books to look at/read would have been great. Also, although the kitchen was fine in terms of equipment, some items like salt/pepper, herbs, oil would have been welcome.

wonderful location. Really sweet, well layed out cottage, with wonderful garden overlooking the river. Lovely to sit out in the garden having breakfast or evening drink whilst the children paddle in the river just below.
Not a criticism as such but we had made assumption there would be things like spare loo roll, washing powder for clothes etc. as lots of places do have a little store. So we almost got caught out!

Lovely location with the river in front ,gift shop bakery and cafe to the side and hotel with bar and food behind and all just off the road. Very easy to find.
Lovely walks too..
A welcome hamper with local produce would have been lovely and another roll of loo paper.

The cottage was clean, tidy , comfortable and roomy (there were two of us). The location is superb with a hotel less than a minutes walk away. The garden was perfect
and ideal for sitting out.
I can't think of anything lacking or not to like, a freezer, perhaps, but we didn''t need one as we ate out every evening.

Loved the location and older style around the cottage
Finding the cottage was a little difficult, the postcode given actually takes you further up the road, best to add its behind the pub / Inn on the corner

Zo schattig en mooi ingericht.
En wat een uitvalsbasis voor wandelen.
