Set in a gated community is Stable lodge 1, converted from working racing stables into a beautiful modern apartment, situated amongst the still working stable yard with views of the horses, just a short drive away from the Lake District national park, a perfect base for exploring or a quiet idyllic setting to relax, straight out the gates is the A595 coast to coast cycle track with links to Workington/whitehaven, there is a private lazy spa room at no extra charges

Every thing was excellent, except first night there was no light in Spa room , rechargeable torches run out in 20 minutes kids got frightened though fixed following morning .beds were very comfy ,I had a fantastic relaxing and enjoyable stay .Vicky and Andy are lovely people and did very warm welcome

We had a wonderful stay here! The location is fantastic – close to beautiful lakes and surrounded by great amenities. It’s a peaceful and quiet place, with lovely people who make you feel truly welcome. One of the highlights was having access to see the horses, which was such a treat, especially for the kids. There’s also plenty of open playing field space to enjoy. Communication was excellent from start to finish, making our stay smooth and stress-free. Highly recommend!

We all enjoyed our stay at the lodge. Was so peaceful kids enjoyed looking at the horses and having a spa onsite was an added bonus. Would definitely recommend the host was very welcoming and on hand to answer any questions. 5 stars

Our stay was wonderful, easy check in and a nice location where is isn’t overcrowded. Lovely lodge and it was spotless. The hot tubs are also a nice place to be in. Will definitely be looking to stay again.

Vicky greeted us on arrival & it was nice to know she was nearby to help with any queries or issues. (There weren’t any.) The apartment was warm & cosy with all we needed for our long weekend. The hot tub was a special treat after a long, chilly walk. Thank you, Vicky.

Really enjoyable stay in a nice setting, pity about the weather. Fair warning there are some works going on on the property grounds making it a bit more unsightly but nothing can be done about that. Overall great. Thank you.

Lovely new apartments, converted from 3 stables and joined together, absolutely everything you could need included! Hot tub in a separate converted stable was perfect for the kids as well even during rainy periods!

We loved this place. Our son was working nearby so this was a good base. Really quirky converted stable. Very well decorated and all mod cons. Nice to see the horses. Pub right next door for dinner

Communication with Vicky fantastic throughout stay. Accommodation clean and exactly as pictured. Felt at home straight away. Underfloor heating was fantastic and use of hot tub was amazing. We had an issue arriving Vicky was always very helpful, understanding and accommodating. Cannot wait to visit again with the kids. The grounds are beautiful!

Great accomodation, very nice! And the stables still had 2 beautiful horses. Everything was a described. The jacuzzi room was fantastic too.. did get list trying to find it though, as the name of the lodge wasn't in the address provided. So when inputting the address, post code and first line of address is not enough. Suggest that you bring hand soap with you, as it's not supplied and washing up sponges if needed (there is a dishwasher!)

What a great place to spend a few days. The stable conversation was great and the use of the hot tub was a bonus. The location was quiet with amazing views, just walk to the top of the driveway and you get a beautiful vista of the mountains. Vicky was there to greet us and showed us round the accommodation and amenities. Perfectly located for exploring the seaside or the lakes, highly recommended 😊

Everything was amazing from the minute you check in. The host explained how the heating worked etc. so you knew exactly how to work things. It was cosy and very comfortable. It's also located close to the town center of Workington so if you need anything, you don't have to travel far to grab any supplies. We will definitely return! Thank you for creating such a wonderful relaxing space.

We have just had a very enjoyable two night stay at this property. It is in a lovely location and is of a high standard. The children loved the hot tub and visiting the horses and we enjoyed the peace and quiet of the surrounding area. The equipment in the accommodation is fine and we loved the Super Kingsize bed in the main bedroom. Vicky was close by if we required any information. The only reason we haven't given 5 stars was that we found the sofa very uncomfortable and had to sit on the floor. Unfortunately its quality did not fit with the rest of the accommodation. That issue aside, we would recommend this property.

Lovely place to stay. Lodge was just perfect. Definitely had the wow factor when you walk in the door. Vicky was there to meet us and explained how to work the heating and where everything was. service was top notch. Vicky was on hand and nothing was a bother to her. Can't wait to go back in the summer.

I stayed here with my partner and 2 boys, aged 2yrs and 4yrs. We arrived at 10pm. This place has a very grand entrance, it is beautiful! Vicky met us once we arrived, she showed us to our apartment, the apartment is gorgeous! The beds are so comfy with views or fields and horses stables, my boys were excited to meet the horses, very impressive shower with underfloor heating. The TV in the lounge is a smart TV meaning you can login to Netflix ect. This is very helpful with our boys. Vicky showed us the hot tub, we didn't go in it, but it is in a private room, decorated very cosily, telly included in the room too. We didn't walk around the farm as the weather was shocking! Vicky said we were more than welcome to have a look around though. The farm is about 10mins from Workington and 45mins from Carlisle. We had a much needed break from home life, this was perfect for us.

We stopped in the lodge from Friday night to Sunday AM, the location is excellent, quiet and secluded immediately round the accommodation but within a 20 minute drive of a number of great things to do, we went to the Lakes Zoo, a walk round the local nature reserve and then Beatrix Potter World on the way home. We were welcomed and showed round the property on arrival and showed the facilities, we didn't get to use the hot tub as we were with our 20 month old, but that looked great with the tele and fridge available etc. The lodge itself is spacious, warm and comfy, perfect for a short break! We wouldn't hesitate to rebook if I wanted a weekend in the lakes again.

Pleasant stay in a clean, centrally located apartment with excellent wi-fi and friendly welcoming hostess. Only downside is lack of kitchen equipment e.g. no measuring jug, grater, casserole type dish which meant eating ready made meals/take-aways/eating out or buying what was needed. Would definitely stay again if in the area.

The lodge is amazing with great facilities inside and was lovely to see the horses too. Would be happy to stay again, Vicky was very welcoming.
