Lovely clean and comfortable space that makes a great base for adventures in the Lake District.

The Barn is a very comfortable, clean and cosy space with modern appliances and showers. Everything was very clean and the shower and bathroom worked really well. The beds were large and comfy, and the carpet was very soft. The space is perfect for four people in a beautiful natural setting with easy access to the Lake District. Whilst this is further west, we enjoyed the easy access to the coast and the longer very scenic drives into the heart of the Lake District where we could frequently stop. The hosts are very welcoming and helped us with the few questions we had.

These are very minuscule details, but it would be great to have a curtain or screen on the front double doors for some added privacy when in the kitchen. We cooked our dinners during our stay, and it would have been nice to have a larger pot/saucepan. Otherwise the kitchen is very well equipped and we had everything else we needed. These are very small details and overall we had a lovely stay.

Amazing place, so clean and unreal hosts!

Location was amazing! Views were beautiful! Very central to get to Keswick , Cockermouth, Whitehaven! Hosts were amazing! The Barn was spotless!! It had everything you needed and more! The host left wine, milk and cookies! They even left some Easter goodies for the children! We would certainly book here again!!

Home away from home

Very clean and well maintained. Chocolates and wine left for when we arrived. The owner did pop by to say hello and apologised for not leaving milk which she usually does. She had been away so wasn't there to drop any in on the day we arrived. Rooms spotless. Plenty of space. Downstairs had underfloor heating which was very welcoming, especially after a day out on the hills walking. The bathroom had a spacious shower which was very clean. Towels provided for the bathroom. A very spacious property that felt like a home away from home. Would definitely stay again in the future.

There wasn't a freezer facility such as an ice box so some of our food went to waste because we had to let it defrost in the fridge.

Very comfortable and quiet stay

The Barn was the perfect location to stay in the Lakes, in a quiet area away from the busy towns/villages. Very comfortable stay and with everything you need to make it your base to explore the area, or simply for chilling during your holidays. The views of the surrounding area from the cottage were superb!

The only thing we missed was a freezer to keep our cool packs frozen for our daily explores, or for keeping frozen pizzas, etc. Not a deal breaker though!

self catering , host had left milk tea sugar coffee and biscuits in the kitchen and a bottle of wine in the fridge towels , toilet rolls, hand wash and washing up liquid all already available

I am 82 and could have done with a hand rail on the stairs , on speaking to the host she said this was their next job to do. also the shower was nice and big plenty of room but found i had nowhere to put my sponge and shower gel except on the base. I found this difficult with my stiff joints. ( its only a petty point ) but worth thinking about.

Charming stay at The Barn

This is a cosy two-bedroom holiday home that we thoroughly enjoyed. The beds were so comfortable that you don't feel like getting off from, and the shower was so sensational that you don't feel getting out from. And there is a reclining chair in the lounge which was a real surprise. So this place might not suit adventure seekers who would like to get out and about! The kids really loved watching all the farm animals from the window, and the view was not bad either.

Excellent property that we would highly recommend.

Spotless and well appointed. The property was well heated. Our hosts left tea and coffee making facilities, milk, biscuits and a bottle of wine. We would recommend the Barn to everyone.

We really enjoyed our stay. This is hyper constructive criticism…there were no coat hooks, almost no condiments. Salt and vinegar etc would’ve been good and mirrors in the bedrooms. Lastly, curtains for the front door/patio doors would be nice. These additions would make us rate the property as a 10/10. I hope that the owners don’t mind us stating the above.

Amazing

Nice house, super clean and easily accesible. An ideal location if you wanna visit the western lake district( buttermere lake, castlerigg stone circle, etc). Well equipped kitchen with plenty of utilities, comfortable bed, spacious rooms and bathrooms. Living room had many board games which was very nice.

Bathrooms dont have showergel or lotion TV was just ordinary not smart hence options to view channels or films were limited

Midweek break in Cumbria

A good base for visiting the area, well equipped kitchen, welcome basics provided for a brew, spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. A good view from the bench and table provided outside. Hosts very helpful and friendly.
