Exceeded my expectations and the kids particularly with all the little extras they had at the accomo
Ideal location for the family, was peaceful and close to all rotes we wanted to explore. We took along a BBQ as I had space in the car and it was well worth it. We are picky eaters and enjoyed the surroundings. We will be booking again as we loved the location.
I could have done with a second towel. Wife and I had to share. But not the end of the world one stayed 2 nights as a trial but will definitely return.

Perfect family break
The house was lovely and spotlessly clean. Liz and Dave also provided tea/coffee, games and books. They also messaged with some information about local events during our stay. They really thought of everything. The beds were comfy, and it is in such a peaceful area. Perfect for a family break.

Very well equipped and having a wc on the ground floor was an unexpected surprise for one of us who has some mobility issues.
All round, fantastic accommodation with organised and thoughtful hosts. Thank you, Liz and Dave. We also appreciated the local information and postcodes to the supermarkets and local towns.
The noise from the road during the day could be quite distracting.l but much quieter in the evenings.
If your purposes for staying is to be out and about, then this would not be an issue.

Very well appointed kitchen and lounge/dining rooms. Excellent information pack about the property and things to do in the surrounding area. Very comfortable place to stay and somewhere we would stay again.
Only hand wash provided, no soap/body wash and shampoo. Shared carpark with the hotel in front of the property was not ideal.

Absolutely everything there are not many properties that make you feel like you’re at home from the get go
The only gripe was the master bedrooms mattress was abit tough so we used the secondary bedrooms mattress which was allot more comfy

We had sun for 3 days out of 5, so we really enjoyed Lake District from this comfortable base.
The house is comfortable and spacious. Everything other than food was laid on for a stay of several days. And having the hotel literally next door meant that eating out was as handy as could be. We had our dog with us so we really appreciated the lovely cycle/walking path right behind the house that extends for many miles in both directions.
The house is in a beautiful natural setting, but the nearby towns are sadly depressing. The area has obviously been badly hit by economic changes and that is very visible when passing through Frizington or Cleator Moor. This location is just outside the official national park, so it doesn't even benefit much from tourism money. All the more reason to support the local economy even in a tiny way.

We found the house very comfortable, but didn t like the location, along a busy road. Frizington is a run down village.
It would be nice to have two keys, in case not all visitors have the same plans.

It's situated in a perfect spot, just a stone's throw away from all of the Lake District's top attractions, yet tucked away in a quiet and peaceful corner that feels far removed from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. Whether you're looking to explore the nearby lakes and hiking trails, or simply relax and soak up the natural beauty of the area, this cottage is the perfect base from which to do it all.
In addition to its prime location, the cottage is also equipped with a range of thoughtful amenities that are designed to make your stay as comfortable and convenient as possible. From the Alexa-enabled smart speaker and smart TV to the wireless charger and high-speed internet access, everything has been carefully chosen to help you relax and unwind.
Another thing we loved about this cottage was the attention to detail that had been put into making it feel like a true home away from home. The owners had left towels, a hairdryer, and a range of cleaning facilities for us to use during our stay, which made it easy to keep everything clean and tidy. And the butler sink and wood worktops in the kitchen added an extra touch of rustic charm that we couldn't help but fall in love with.
All in all, we had a wonderfully comfortable and enjoyable stay at this cottage. The peaceful location, thoughtful amenities, and charming decor all combined to make it a truly memorable experience. We would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a relaxing and rejuvenating holiday in the Lake District.

The cottage was amazing and we especially liked the log burner. It was in a great location too! The hosts were great and made sure we knew where we could find everything. The guest book was also a great addition as it gave us ideas of where to explore. Would definitely recommend staying here if you are visiting the lake district!
