The property is in the most beautiful location and was everything I could have asked for and more. It's blissfully quiet and the accommodation is extremely spacious and comfortable. The lovely host brings breakfast at a pre agreed time which is plentiful, there's also cereals fresh milk, tea and coffee. I was visiting relatives nearby but it would make a super base to explore the area with the National Trust Kedleston Hall just minutes away.

It was all perfect, and I will most definitely be returning when I next visit Derby.

A beautiful property within a lovely location with a wonderful host. Just perfect accommodation.

Our host, Angela was wonderful. She met us at the property and handed over the keys and brought us a lovely breakfast each morning, with fresh fruit salad, warm croissants, toast and orange juice (there was tea and coffee/cereals already provided in the kitchen). It was extremely quiet in the village location, which was conveniently situated to get in and out of Derby town centre and with a wonderful pub (The Joiners Arms), just along the road, which also had food. There was plenty of space, two bathrooms (one shower), and the accommodation is in a lovely old converted building behind the beautiful main house, from the early 1700s. Everything was perfectly set up for our stay and in a very thoughtful and lovely extra 'touch', Angela knew we were visiting to attend 'The Greatest Gathering', at Alstom works, in celebration the 20-year anniversary of the railways and she brought us a local newspaper with an article about the event (so kind). The property was impeccably clean, extremely comfortable, and filled with wonderful old film posters and vintage posters from the local area. It was such a lovely place to stay, and like a home away from home. Thank you, Angela!

Loved being tucked away and so private. Plus a beautiful and peaceful location with so many amenities not far an amazing pub a few minutes away …food was delicious….countryside amazing … Bakewell not far. Will be back for another visit plus Chatsworth so beautiful…on an early morning …

Wonderful experience with a great host.

We were staying because of the location to a wedding venue. I had read superb reviews and I have to say they were spot on. It was a large detached space with all the amenities one could wish for. Fascinatingly decorated with old film posters which we found very interesting. I cannot think of anything adverse to say. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful and the 'pantry' was well stocked. Angela was a superb host with an abundance of useful information and help , although forgot to mention how large the pizzas were at the Joiners Arms, just up the road! If and when we come back to the area we will look to return.

Highly recommended

Angela was very welcoming and the perfect host. The accommodation was bigger than expected, over 2 floors and had everything we needed. Situated behind the owners home and it felt secure behind the electric gates, easy parking close to the front door of the property. A lovely continental breakfast provided to the room at a time to suit you. Thanks for a lovely stay Angela

Exceeded our expectations in every way.

We had an amazing stay at Old Croft Stables and would recommend it without any reservation. The property is absolutely beautiful outside and in and is furnished and maintained to an exceptionally high standard. The host, Angela, could not have been more helpful and went out of her way to provide information and assistance. The breakfast was delicious.

Genuinely can't think of anything to improve our stay. Every detail was perfect.

This was a great place to stay. It was spacious, had all the facilities you would need and lovely views from the window. Our host was wonderful and extremely welcoming, and even brought us warm pastries in the morning. We would definitely return.

Stunning apartment and brilliant host

Our stay was brilliant and definitely exceeded expectations. The property is huge and beautifully decorated, and Angela was incredibly welcoming and helpful (she even ironed my boyfriend’s shirt for him!). We were attending a wedding at Kedleston Country House so the location was perfect for us.

A great find!

Absolutely love this property. Everything about this place was great, lovely setting in the countryside with great views, very quiet and pretty as a picture. From the minute we got there and were greeted by Angela, I couldn’t recommend this place enough. Very spacious and clean with a lovely breakfast in the morning. And very good value for money and definitely worth a visit.

There was nothing to dislike with this property, just perfect.
