I had a great stay at The Stay Company Friar Gate in Derby. The location was excellent—easy to find, with clear instructions for accessing the accommodation. There were plenty of amenities nearby, including local shopping and a good selection of restaurants. The access routes were convenient, making travel simple. The accommodation itself was ideal for a couple. It was smartly fitted, well-maintained, and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. Every aspect was thoughtfully covered. If I were to suggest improvements, they would be minor and more personal preference: a king-size bed would have made the experience even better, and perhaps a slightly larger sofa for added comfort. However, I understand these are limited by the size of the property. Overall, a great stay and highly recommended.

Clean apartment, good location, responsive staff. No elevator, would prefer more hooks in the bathroom and room and a full shower door for the bathroom.

Our first impression was the cleaning in the bathroom was rushed. An obvious long black hair in the sink. Also the wet bathmat in the middle of the bathroom floor.

Great accommodation with secure parking, everything we needed for our stay. We could hear the guests above us and when using the stairs but I think they were probably just very noisy

Love the location, with a quaint breakfast joint (Janet's) and spectacular pizza (Trattoria Lalis) close by. The provision of parking, the easy check-in and out and comfortable fully equipped units made our stay memorable.

Nice main room when you walk in with well equipped kitchen. Bedroom reminded me a bit of an old fashioned B&B, though, with a creaky floor which rattled the coat hangers in the wardrobe when you walked past. Bathroom floor had a few stains on, which I guess were permanent. A bit odd, overall, in that the whole building seemed to be a mix of rooms for customers, and some sort of office space for their company workers. In the evening, we had the continuous noise of footsteps from above our room, not just occasional moving around, but hour after hour of stomping and marching, almost as though someone was doing a gym work out in their room. I went upstairs to inspect the layout the following morning, and suspect that it was office space above our heads, and that staff there were working late....and.... on the move. Continuously. Rigorously. Very odd.

The Stay Company staff is welcoming and communicative and staying at the Friar Gate apartment was very comfortable! Loved all the furnishings and fittings and the location is perfect for walking and bussing around the city.

Collection of keys and Entry system was easy and efficient to use. Lovely to have essentials like tea, coffee, cereal and milk in on arrival (perfect if you are arriving late in day). Really well thought out. Was exactly what we needed for our 3 day visit.

Apartment could be noisy at night due to proximity to busy roads and poorly soundproofed windows. Apart from that the apartment was clean, facilities were excellent and a welcome pack was provided which was much appreciated.

Fantastic weekend and the property in Friar Gate is ideal. 10 minute walk to Derby city centre. Shops and pubs even closer for essentials. Staff on site to help and responded immediately to all requests. Highly recommend if visiting the city.
