The best stay so far in Ubud for us. We were pampered by their hospitality, kindness,smiles and their best fruit juices

Friendliest people on earth,best fresh juices,away from the hustle and the bustle of Ubud,best bike rides in the pouring rain by the padi fields on the evening when we checked in. They also had the cutest residents .. 3 cats and 2 dogs. Agus, the manager and his wonderful staff made sure our stay was perfect. Their in house massages were the best! We picked the villa by the river which was secluded and quiet. It is a great place to wind down, relax and reflect in nature

Sweet Orang Ponduk made our vacation!

We decided to stay in one place for our 3 week vacation in Bali! After much research we chose Sweet Orange Pondok and boy did we win the lottery! The place is nestled in rice fields and jungle. No road but they send a motor bike to central parking for an adventurous ride on a developed path. So this means no traffic or noice which is a welcome reprieve from chaotic Ubud. It's only a 10 minute hike on Secret Rice Paddy trail and you're in downtown Ubud. The place is like heaven on earth. Fountains, a large organic garden and the salads are delicious. Every morning we ate breakfast looking at butterflies, koi fish and fat lizards scurrying about. Beautiful Putu the owner has put her soul in the place and it's impeccable. Each villa has a porch with a view near the infinity pool. The bed is comfy and the bathtub large with unlimited hot water so I gave myself several personal spa treatments. Lots to do in the area and we met fellow travelers and rented private cars to see the sights. I can't say enough about how special energy of this place is.. We are world travelers and we can say with all honesty that our favorite thing in Ubud was Sweet Orange Pondok!!!

Amazing property

The property it is surrounded by beautiful rice fields and forest. The pool is very close to the room and is amazing. The staff and the cats are great and really friendly. We loved that and we will certainly come back.

A perfect stay with clean rooms, great service, and a paradise-like atmosphere.

Everything was perfect. The hotel was very clean and offered a nice breakfast. The staff picked us up from Ubud Centre with bikes free of charge, contacting us easily through WhatsApp. They even had a setup on the bikes to carry our big luggage, so we could travel comfortably to the hotel. The hotel area itself felt like paradise, and the stay also included one daily drop-off and one pick-up from the centre, which was very convenient. Overall, I highly recommend this hotel.

Hidden gem in the middle of Ubud

Nice location hidden in the middle of the rice fields. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Nice breakfast and also the restaurant on site has a good selection of food and reasonable prices. Overall, price to quality of stay ratio was great. We used laundry service and it was good and rather cheap.

Some staff struggled with English, but we could always find a way around. Also, it is not accessible for people with limited mobility.

Nice setting but the room was a let down

Very much enjoyed the beautiful setting of Sweet Orange Pondok & the peaceful surrounding. The pool was great & we both enjoyed our massages. The scooter service was fantastic into Ubud too & the guys were very polite.

The Loji room has multiple cracks, is tired and there is mould on the wall. I have allergic rhinitis & so became ill (sneezing, runny nose, skin rash). Mould can easily be washed with bleach or baking soda/vinegar. I let the property know via WhatsApp 10 days ago to hopefully get resolved for future guests but equally they haven’t acknowledged my message. Be careful if you have food allergies. My husband has a cows milk allergy. We had the included breakfast twice & was given milk both times (within a juice, then a smoothie bowl).

Magic place for relax

It's a really nice place where you can chill, enjoy good food, fresh juices and spend time surrounded by trees and rice fields. Magic place! Walking distance to Ubud, 10-15 min, grab delivery food if you want to order something different. The staff is very friendly. They organised transport for us even outside of their working hours in the early morning so we didn't have to carry luggage to the city. Nice swimming pool, not crowded, place was clean with good Air-condition, place is well maintained by the staff, Recommend to everyone!

Gorgeous quiet sanctuary in ubud

Lovely little sanctuary in ubud away from the chaos, staff so friendly and helpful. Room was gorgeous and really clean.

Be aware you can’t get a car all the way to property, hotel staff can pick you up on scooters if you ask though! It’s only a ten minute walk from town but need to arrange lift if you have baggage! Means it’s more peaceful though!

We are Álvaro and María. From Spain. We spent 4 nights and 5 days at Sweet Orange, and we can truly say it is the most beautiful and breathtaking place we have ever stayed in our lives. No luxury hotel can compare to this. The food was top-notch. The staff’s attention was exceptional—especially Agus, who was incredibly kind and attentive from the very beginning. When you arrive here, you don’t have to worry about a thing. Just disconnect and relax. We truly hope to come back someday. Thank you to everyone.

Mediocre at best.

It’s a cute place but not enough space inside the cottage for 2 people.

It’s really far from the main road so accessibility wise it’s really poor. The rice fields around are nice but even with a scooter, these are very very narrow lanes to get through. They just keep constructing tiny cottages to accommodate more tourists but the existing facilities are mediocre. Couldn't tell if the staff at the restaurant were polite or didn't care enough to serve us well.

Comfortable and peaceful villa

Really nice to have the restaurant right there with great food! Service and staff were also great and they ensure your stay is comfortable. Massages also onsite is nice and the villa is very beautiful.

Concierge is available from 8am to 9pm or so, which means anything after hours has to wait. Location isn’t bad but since it’s in the middle of the rice fields (very peaceful), getting back at night there’s no light on the walking paths. So I usually took motorbikes back home after sunset.

Peaceful retreat close to Ubud.

Tucked into the Kajeng rice fields just outside Ubud, Sweet Orange Pondok was the perfect escape from the crowds. We stayed in a quiet bungalow surrounded by palm trees and green fields, waking up to birdsong each morning and going to sleep with the sounds of frogs in the fields. The on-site warung served a delicious breakfast each morning, with a view of the gardens and rice fields. And when we felt like exploring, there were several trails to enjoy or just a short walk into town.

It’s really worth it!

The location is a little bit far from the main road, you have to go through a rice field to get to it. But you will get a really decent experience of traditional Balinese accommodation, food and lifestyle. Food provided by the hotel is all pretty fresh and organic. You can sense the nature from it.And the hosts are all very friendly 💕

Set in a stunningl location surrounded by rice fields, 10 minutes walk to the centre of Ubud. Good food offering overlooking the gardens and grounds which are beautifully laid out and well maintained. Everything was spotlessly clean. Staff were friendly and helpful.

No cushions on the sunbeds (not sure if this standard in Bali?) which is a shame because it did limit enjoyment of the picturesque pool area.
