Extremely disappointed with Flat 1 - will not be returning.

- Parking was available at the front of the property. - The flat is easily accessible as it is on the ground floor. - Neptune Apartments is in a good location as all of Brid's popular amenities are only a 5-10 minute walk away. - I have genuinely struggled to list aspects of Flat 1 which were acceptable!

Unfortunately, I have a long list of issues I found with Flat 1 during my stay which relate to cleanliness, safety and maintenance. Some issues I found are as follows: - All rooms were unclean with cobwebs everywhere and furniture was thick with dust. - Kitchen appliances were filthy. The oven and fridge were disgusting and the kettle had heavy limescale. - The overall decor was tired and in major need of renovation. - The shower was STILL broken despite numerous other reviews also mentioning this (Sykes Cottages, do you not monitor your reviews?). The shower temperature controls were broken and stuck on scalding hot! I previously messaged the provider to ask if the shower had been fixed before my stay but received no reply. - The shower extractor fan did not work. - The bathroom radiator was chained to the wall and had a Stanley knife wedged underneath it! - There was no wardrobe in the bedroom. There was a chest of drawers which was inaccessible as the bed and beside table obstructed access and drawers under the bed which again couldn't be accessed due to space issues. I had to purchase coat hangers so I could at least hang my clothing on doors around the flat. - There was a built in cupboard in the bedroom with a handwritten sign saying do not use which was full of stained spare duvets and pillows and old towels shoved in a bag! - The main hallway light STILL does not work. I have stayed in Neptune Apartments 3 times over 3 years and this light has never worked. - Please be aware that there are very noisy and violent neighbours (I witnessed multiple arguments and fights in the street). I have stayed in Flat 2 twice which was not without its own faults but overall acceptable. However this is the first time I have stayed in Flat 1 and I am appalled by the standard of this accommodation. I will be submitting a formal complaint to Sykes Cottages with all the issues I have found. Unfortunately, because of this, I will not be returning to Neptune Apartments.

Great stay just needs maintenance.

The flat was clean and spacious. Its quite close to the centre.

The flat could use a little maintenance. The shower has 2 heads but only 1 of them work. The shower temperature being to hot can be solved by turning the water temp down on the boiler. The flat has everything you could need really. I think it'd benefit from a washing machine. There's a washing line but nowhere to wash clothes. All in all its a good stay it could just use a little bit of maintenance and maybe some improvements.

Ok for a weekend

HEATING wouldn't work No hot water ( I doubt that everyone would know how to bleed or vent the system and I don't mean the radiators but the boiler itself ),I managed to sort the water out BUT the controls on the shower wouldn't allow you to take a shower unless you regulate the boiler NOT ideal Only one bath towel for two people The bed was comfy and a great quilt The cleaner needs to go on a cleaning course IE bread bin full of crumbs, fridge needs a deep clean The shower looks like it's never been cleaned the screen was just a MASS of lime scale rug needs a deep clean

The location is almost next to the spa (50 yds) the area is run down as is most seaside towns Parking outside is only for two vehicles and the rest is residential parking only

Good space for family hoilday

The location, the size of flat ,the lay out . The beds are very cosy. Shower is big enough for larger people. The boiler is excellent at adjusting the water temperature if needed.

Has most things in the flat .needs egg cups ,not everyone eats fried eggs lol 😆 needs darker curtains as the light is very bright very early.

Could have done with a good clean shower was not clean Parking not good somebody parked in the middle of the drive leaving us unable to park our car so we had to park it down one of the nearby streets

Wasn’t clean cobwebs & dust everywhere. Smelt unpleasant in bathroom was previous rubbish left under sofa. Mould in the cupboard/wardrobe

Very disappointing

The apartment is spacious and ideally located for all amenities. There's also a Costcutter at the end of the street (appx 100yds away), which is ideal for morning papers & groceries etc etc. Offroad parking [flat 1+2] is a huge bonus due to the difficulty in finding a nearby space on the streets.

The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and there was mould on one of the walls in the bedroom as well as a general smell of damp everywhere except the living room. My wife is asthmatic so we ended up having to sleep on the living room sofas after a couple of days. The cutlery & cups were also dirty - but that wasn't such a big deal because we always wash them before usage anyway. One of the upstairs waste pipes was leaking into the back yard but that was reported and somebody did come out to look at it almost immediately. Oh, and rather oddly there was a huge pile of decorating equipment abandoned at the side of the couch in the living room! To summarise: This was our 4th stay at the property (over perhaps a 6 year period) so we have kind of witnessed what seems to be a general a decline (as well as a substantial increase in cost) in the quality of our stay - which is a real shame really because it's location is an ideal base for a holiday or break. Nonetheless, because of my wife's health issues it would be unwise for us to consider a 5th stay so we'll be looking elsewhere next time we're visiting family.

A good holiday base. Lots of room. Good room size eg shower room, kitchen, bedroom and living area.

The amount of space for all persons were very good.

The only thing was that the brown sofa suede bed was beautiful to look at and obviously good quality but there was a dip where the framework had actually broken so became very uncomfortable to sleep on so slept on the red leather sofa after the first night. The one thing we were disappointed at was that the WIFI didn't work properly and bearing in mind that we were a Grannie, Daughter and 2 teenage kids was a bit of a pain as all their data was used up in the flat rather than they being able to come back and get their data topped up at the flat. One last thing on the last day we noticed ants coming from behind the microwave. It's a flat, a good flat so I myself was very happy to stay there as long as what has been mentioned has been rectified.

Beds were not fit to sleep on slats missing on double bed in bedroom futon was only big enough for one although it was advertised as a double one of us had to sleep on the sofa without bedding it also had a metal bar sticking through the fabric causing it so scratch one of our party No extra bedding (it was very cold) No wardrobes had to live out of our suitcases which was very inconvenient Very Dirty!! The host ignored our msgs !! Very Rude! Don’t expect this when we paid nearly £400 for two night stay

close to the beach and harbour, local shop and bakery seconds away ,town centre 5 min walk. spacious flat that had everything you could want.

A bit cold at night, it said the stat was off but we could not find a stat anywhere. The shower was very hot and didnt turn down but we always had plenty of hot water

Had a great time, made a lot of new friends, close to everything.

Very clean, comfortable, wifi, everything you needed, Chinese on both sides just round corner, close to all amenities , parking on site.

Heating hard to control had a mind of its own, double bed on the small size, we're not tall and feet kept sticking outside bottom of bed.

location good. kitchen well equipped. internet worked well. smart tv. heating worked well. clean. for the price, it was ok. quiet - no noise woke us up in the night.

the bed was uncomfortable - mattress, duvet and pillows were old and worn. the futon in the living room is not suitable - it needs replacing. you can feel the metal through the cushions and the duvet and pillows are stored on the floor. the bathroom needs some tlc - the shower was loose and we could not change the temperature. the toilet roll holder was broken. no hand soap was provided and limited toilet paper. kitchen was well equipped and dish soap was provided but no coffee or tea.

The location and parking were excellent.

The main bedroom was messy on arrival. Dirty bedding on the floor. Terribly uncomfortable sofa bed (luckily I had read the reviews on this and had brought extra padding!) Heavy noisy fire doors. Broken Yale lock on fire exit. The back courtyard was very uncared for, broken pram in the garden. Limited glasses and other things such as scissors. The shower was very hard to regulate the temperature and the toilet roll holder was broken.

abysmal, we did not even get our cases out of the car, and had to find alternative accomadation.

Absolutely NOTHING.

The flat was not up to standard. ie, damp in the clothes cupboard, dirty shower, windows that would not lock all in all not a place my wife (who was in tears) would stay, we have tried to get at least a little bit of compensation but the owner says NO. I am sorry to say that we will not be using Booking.com or sykes cottages ever again.

Would not stay again

Parking is big selling point, and being close to town and beach also good. WIFI connection was faultless

On the surface the flat looks ok, but there are things that the owner could do with very little cost. There are cobwebs in every room, kitchen facilities dirty, kettle full of limescale, pots and pans greasy. Having a small amount of tea, coffee and sugar on arrival would be nice. Shower only runs HOT. No where to hang clothes in the bedroom. No cleaning product available, no sponge to wash the dishes, no spare bin bag, no bleach or air freshener in bathroom. These are just a few things that I noticed. Fixing those things would not cost alot but would make a difference to someone staying self catering. Also I would suggest offering a spare set of keys, i stayed with my partner and if i went out alone I'd either lock him in or leave all doors open. Neither are favorable.
