Lovely top floor apartment.

This accommodation was well located. A lovely view from our window of the chateau. The house has a rich history, lots of character but modern conveniences. The bed was comfortable, the shower hot. The host sent a video explaining entry and parking procedures making arrival relaxed. The 36 steps up a spiral staircase added to the character of the accommodation but I suspect would not suit those in poor health as it's a long carry up the stairs with bags. Loved the Philosophers House and loved Amboise.

Wonderful place to stay again & again in Amboise

Everything. This is our third stay. It's like having a second home that we visit each July. The apartment is very modern & well-equipped. The bathroom has a large shower and is quite spacious. The bedroom has plenty of storage and the bed is very comfortable. A 3 minute walk into the centre of Amboise, its chateau & its many restaurants.

Awesome location to old town and chateaus. Had washer and dryer and nice size 1 bedroom. Well supplied for all your needs. They send a video explaining how to get in. Excellent community with the owner.

Beautiful apartment, great location, the hosts were so lovely and helpful and gave us a welcome gift, parking off the street, lots of space even for a studio apartment.

(Not a problem for us) but as a warning - narrow staircase to get to room.

The location was very convenient esp if you need parking, everything was within a walking distance in Amboise, the place was huge, well-decorated and was a great value, the amenities are well-thought out and the hosts were very responsive. The delicious welcome treats were also very much appreciated ❤️

Suited our needs a great place

Hosts were readily available. We had an enquiry which the host responded to immediately. Our appartment had off street parking a real bonus

The bathroom was well appointed and spotless but I am 1.9 meters tall and the shower was a tight fit. However I managed but had I dropped the soap there was no chance of retrieving it.

Our chateau visiting trip in the Loire Valley.

My wife and I really loved our stay at La maison du philosophe! It was perfect! The location is exceptional and had parking on site. Close to everything that you want to see in Amboise. The apt was immaculate. Very clean and provided everything we needed for our stay. We enjoyed a couple of nights cooking there and found everything that we needed to do so. Oh by the way the castle view from our windows was amazing!!! Old building with a great story that was perfect.

Lovely stay in Amboise

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Our apartment on the ground floor had a modern feel and was clean, comfortable and well equipped. Walking distance to shops, restaurants and Chateau Amboise. Easy free parking across the street. Communication with the host was excellent and we enjoyed the complimentary bottle of wine in the backyard. Would stay here again

Lovely and convenient flat

The location was perfect, quiet yet close to everything. Free reserved parking was great. The flat itself had everything we needed and more, including a washing machine, which was handy. And the flat is beautiful. Franck and Delphine had lots of local tips both in their welcoming messages and in a binder onsite and were responsive and helpful. I would love to stay there again, even longer!

Excellent stay in beautiful location

Well appointed apartment with all mod cons. Very clean & warm. Owners were easy to get in touch with & left welcome gifts which was a nice touch. Free private parking & well situated to walk into centre of town.

Stairs would be a problem for anyone with mobility issues but owners make you aware of this.

Charming Stay in Lovely Studio Flat with Perfect Location

Excellent location to explore Amboise and make day trips to the Loire Chateaux. The flat was clean and charming, the hosts were superb. We absolutely loved our stay and felt warmly welcomed.

When the weather is warm, it is tempting to leave the windows open for comfort, but there are so many motorbikes in Amboise and they like to gun the throttle as they pass the intersection in front of the property. This can make sleep a challenge. This is not a reflection on the property and we would go there again ... but Amboise needs to enforce a noise ordinance.

Fantastic apartment close to everything in Amboise

Everything. The location was wonderful, just a short walk to the Chateau, restaurants & boulangeries. Parking was good. Apartment well equipped View of the Chateau from kitchen window while eating out breakfast was amazing. Nice touch having loungers in the garden.

Clean authentic building with comfortable well equiped apartment in a good location.

La Maison du Philosophe was in a great location. The apartment had everything you needed along with a lot of thoughtful extras. It was clean and well equipped with clothes washer, heated towel rail, hair dryer, coffee machine etc. It is beautifully decorated and has a very comfortable bed and couch. You need to take care with suitcases when using the narrow completely authentic stairs. We stayed in the apartment on the top floor (2nd) and enjoyed the views.

We found that the 1700 (5 pm ) check in quite late and the 10 am checkout a little early. We did request a 12 pm checkout but this was not possible due to the cleaning schedule.

A great stay in an an ideal location

Everything about the property was excellent. We were especially impressed with the kitchen equipment and other facilities. It was also very quiet - we couldn't even hear the other people in the building. The location is ideal and the advice from the owners on local sights, shops and restaurants was very useful.

Spiders - didn't see them during the day but they came out at night due to the street light by the window. The rest of the property was impeccably clean but I killed about 20 spiders inside all near the window.
