The apartment is situated at the entrance to Siena\'s Eagle Contrada. Surrounded by magnificent medieval and renaissance architecture, it is literally one block from Piazza del Campo, the most beautiful and unusual public square in Europe and site of The Palio, Siena\'s famous horse race - and, in the other direction, it is 150 steps from the Duomo, the astonishing 13th-century Cathedral of Siena. Just down the block is Palazzo Chigi Saracini, which features an internationally acclaimed music festival during the summer, and concerts year round. Wonderful restaurants and bar/coffee shops just a few meters from our front door, from simple neighborhood osterias to more upscale dining establishments. Shopping for local handicrafts, specialties and international luxury goods, art and fashion are just a few steps from our door.
The Aerie: An airy great room & new kitchen adjoins two bedrooms & a full bathroom with a huge walk-in shower. Up the travertine marble stairs is a third bedroom with an even more fabulous view, and a second full bathroom. All bedrooms have a commodious wardrobe with 3 drawers and ample hanging space. Each of the three bedrooms has two single beds that can be combined into a queen. Amenities include: washer-dryer, iron & board, fully equipped kitchen with 5-burner gas stove, double sink, refrigerator & freezer, oven & microwave. The couch in the soggiorno unfolds easily into a comfortable double bed. The dining table expands to accommodate 8+ diners.
