On arrival the owner’s son explained thar he had studied law, that the legalities of renting an apartment to tourists in Bologna were unclear and that he therefore required us to sign a new contract, separate to our existing booking.com contract. That new contract ran to several pages and included new terms and an obligation to pay the stated rental sum and city tax in full. The amounts quoted did not match the amount already contracted to via booking.com and did not recognise that the rental had already been prepaid in full via booking.com. The Construction works directly outside which started from 07:15 Monday-Friday. One of the two air conditioning units was not working on arrival, which had been reported by the previous guests but which was not fixed until we were on day 5 of our stay. We were not forewarned of any of the above.

Federico was an excellent host, very responsive and incredibly helpful with recommendations for Bologna and making sure our checkin and checkout went smoothly. The apartment is in an excellent location, is immaculately clean, spacious, and quiet despite being so centrally located.
