Perfect location, very nice place - clean, with good feel to it. Comfortable beds and lovely living room.

The apartment was very clean and tidy and well appointed. Everything just worked. The kitchen had all pots, pans, utensils, etc necessary to prepare meals from scratch. And a "Nespresso" coffee pod machine (original, small pods). The beds were very comfortable, the central heating kept the place warm and the shower was hot. The location was perfect as it was half way along one of the main streets in Whitby and with views of the abbey and the harbour. Good, reliable wifi.

Stairs! Unfortunately both myself and my wife have problems with modility. The apartment is split over 3 levels which we were aware of, but there are 2 flights of stairs to climb to get to the front door. This was only a major problem when arriving and departing with luggage. Mobile internet was poor in the cente fo Whitby when I arrived, so I struggled to find the instructions for the outer door. I suggest taking a note of the door code before arrival. There are 3 key boxes; none has the apartment number, but it doesn't take long to work out which once you have the code. General instructions are accessed by mobile phone barcode on a picture on the middle floor. This includes the wifi code; (see issues regarding mobile internet...). The apartment guide book is in a drawer but should be on the table for arrival. This should include parkign passes which are hidden in various drawers. Storage is a bit limited for longer stays. There a plenty of cupboards, but many are full of cleaning and decorating equipment and I assume, the owner's clothes, etc.

Location good, nice views, homely feel.

It’s advertised as free parking in W zones but there were no scratch cards on arrival, we called several times to ask for this to be rectified but it never was. This caused stress/expense having to move the car from paid car parks to ages away on residential streets to avoid being fined, but it was being lied to on the phone ‘someone will drop one off for you’ etc that left a real bad taste. Cutlery and microwave had encrusted food that had to be cleaned before use, pillows on main bed need replacing and twin beds upstairs aren’t really suitable for adults, more for children. Whitby is nice but we wouldn’t stay here again I don’t think.
