Very central
We arrived Friday night it was freezing outside but the house wasn’t that warm we had to sit with our jackets on, log burner had no logs in basket at that time of night when arrived no were open to buy them, couldn’t not find a guide to the house and contents upon looking at the pile of toys in a corner there was the guide of which not much of it was right. Fire blanket in log basket, didn’t know it had a washer, no fire extinguisher on stairs, very well equipped,

The location is good for access to town but is not the prettiest location.
Unfortunately from the moment we arrived we thought that the property looked in desperate need of some tlc and it turned out that we were right. The doormat and front area of the house is filthy-nothing a good sweep and wash down couldn’t fix tbh. The downstairs area could be really pretty and cosy BUT the arms of the sofa are so badly stained I didn’t want to touch them. Both sofas are mostly covered with throws and I did wonder when they might have been last washed as they didn’t smell very fresh. The paint is peeling from the plastered walls behind the front door and up the stairs and it has just been left there and not cleaned up! The flooring in the main bathroom has gaps and the trim along the edge of the step up area to the shower/toilet is loose and hazardous. This whole area needs some attention. The bedroom window needs something to prop it open (we visited when it was really hot so needed the ventilation). We read the reviews about the attic room being hard to access if you’re older but even we found it tricky-the stairs are perilous! Also, if you’re taller than about 5’5” there is very little space to stand up in there. I have to say that both of the beds, bathrooms and kitchen were clean but everywhere else really needs more attention. The backs of the doors and light fittings have layers of dust and the whole place just doesn’t smell very fresh. 😔
