Great value for money. Very friendly staff. Room was good bed comfortable. Bathroom small but functional.

The bed wasn't comfortable with what felt like a very basic, cheap mattress and pillows were hard, although the bedding was crisp and clean. The hotel in general looks very tired. The bathroom just didn't feel clean, although the porcelain was clean, the tired looking paintwork, streaks down the painted walls and quite a bit of black around the shower fittings wasn't overall welcoming. Our view of the bay from the bedroom window was lovely, except for cigarette butts all over the outside ledge of the window. We had to pay £40 surcharge for our two small dogs for two days (I can understand a surcharge if a room has to have an extra clean because of a dog, but surely an extra clean is an extra clean, whether there's one dog or two, or whether it is one night or two - it has never cost me that much extra wherever I've been with my dogs before!) I'd read good reviews about the breakfast so we decided to pay extra for breakfast for two days - however we found the breakfast to be very disappointing to say the least The area outside of the restaurant where dogs are allowed didn't even have tables set for breakfast so we had the wait for that to be done. The serve yourself canteen style of hardened scrambled eggs, boiled presumably canned mushrooms and not great sausages, wet and greasy hash browns, tinned tomatoes and baked beans - but decent bacon so on the second day I opted just for a bacon sandwich, however there was no brown bread left as they had run out the day before, for which the gentleman was very apologetic, and the white bread was very basic cheap sliced loaves so it really was not enjoyable. There were some individually pre-packed croissants - we didn't try those, perhaps they would have been better. Tea and coffee was served at the table - no offer of a second pot or top up. The 'juice' was literally just a cordial squash and there wasn't any fresh fruit at all for breakfast.
