Need to fix problems in rooms also learn to treat guests right way

Wasn't at all what I expected

Asked from us to be quite but other room guests was loud all night also leaking toilet and not able to use shower as all leaks from toilet went to shower place. Of course its made bad smell in all room. Included breakfast was without any salt or spices. Definitely would not recommend. Only view to lake was nice. There don't have air condition o lying fan.

AMAZING!!!!!

I spent 4 fantastic days in Villa Danu!! The location is perfect, on Batur Lake, surrounding by rice fields, very close to Hot springs and village. Villa Danu has just few rooms, it is all very cozy. My wood room was very confortable and clean, the king bed so good! The best thing during my stay was the kind hospitality and care I received from the staff. Luis, the owner, can organize for you interesting trip (such Trunyam Cementery, Batur hiking... etc) and he is always available for any request and help. I can say that these days in Batur were one of the best during my Bali trip!

The location is excellent as you can see the mount batur right from the hotel. Its a very small town so not many options but the villas have everything you need. The staff were very warm. They also organised a late night massage for us given we had a long day and were super tired. They prepared fresh breakfast and it was super yummy. Really good value for the price

The road to the property is very narrow and bumpy so just be prepared for a short bumpy ride. But the terrain in the area is such that there’s nothing much they can do. Also if you planning to go for a morning sunrise jeep tour, it will prep you for the ride ;)

View was awesome. Picturesque and had the place to ourselves. The staff were fantastic and went out of their way to help.

Barking dogs during the night, and ATV’S screaming past at all hours. Very isolated, no shops and no fridge in room to keep anything cold.

The food, couldn’t eat it. Water pressure and temperature was terrible. Rooms weren’t cleaned properly, couldn’t breathe because of the dust, under the bed was never cleaned. Wifi kept dropping out. Steep steps to Pool and Deluxe room with no hand rail.

The staff were wonderful. Very attentive, always available, and keen to help with tours and treks. They will even drive you to nearby places themselves! Any room issues were handled immediately. I was made to feel very comfortable here, and I will definitely be back. Oh - and the views are incredible! It's in such a beautiful location.

5 star experience

The property was amazing! The view, the villa, the food, the staff, everything was fantastic. Luis looked after us from the moment we arrived until the moment we left. He was amazing and tended to all of our needs. He even lent me his jacket for our mount Batur trip as I forgot mine. We recommend Villa Danu 100%, it was honestly the best experience that we had in Bali. Thank you Luis for being amazing!

The staff were amazing, especially Louis. Louis made sure we were well looked after and attended to all our needs. The bed was sooo comfortable, and the food from the restaurant was sensational.

Room description on booking.com did not match what we got. We got food on the day of our arrival which was shocking. Worst meal I have eaten in Bali. We also waited 50 minutes for this food.

Fantastic! i loved this place so much! Stayed in the Garden view villa, was super clean! Komang, the staff was amazing. His breakfast services were fabulous! Beautiful villa, so much space! Big pool with lake view, i love it. Would highly recommend staying here, far from a crowd area of bali!

Fantastic Stay in Kintamani

Fantastic place to see the real Bali. The owners and staff are lovely people. We were greeted with a wonderful welcoming and a very friendly service from the moment we Arrived. Vill Danu has Amazing views everywhere. It has extremely comfortable beds, exceptionally clean and well-presented Rooms with hot water. You do not need air conditioning as the nights are very cool all year round. Treat yourself to some Local food and drinks at the bar that looks out over Lake Batur. From here also are spectacular panoramic views of the surrounding Mountains and one of them is Mt Abang,Mount Agung. I would highly recommend a stay here if you are looking in this area for a nice comfortable place to stay. And if you are lucky you can sit around the fire and enjoy the crisp clean night time air looking up at the millions of majestic stars! Thank you for a perfect stay . I cannot wait to visit Villa Danu again.

Beyond our expectations!! Villa is absolutely stunning, surrounded by flowers and the greens. Nice view from of the lake and its quiet villa. Komok and his staff are super friendly, representing Balinese people they are always happy to help and do their Best. My favorite part is a stunning view pool with delicious floating breakfast. we will definitely come back here again.

The bed in room 6 is a bit squeeky 😁 but overall a very nice stay. You can’t even be mad for the flies. Those are EVERYWHERE near that area. Also, someone should talk about how Grab and GoJek are not allowed in this area. But its fine if you are willing to bargain a bit.

Loved this stay.staff make sure you feel like family. Clean,beautiful view 😍 I had the most amazing time at Batur Lake View! mowgli and his family are wonderful and warm hosts. I love the views of this place, and the location is perfect for climbing Mount Batur at sunrise, or exploring around Lake Batur. I really felt cared for during my stay. I lost my wallet on a trip to Bali as a solo traveler, and the host also helped me figure out my cash situation (helped find someone I could use PayPal with). Komang treats its guests like family, and I had a wonderful time chatting around the campfire in the evening. I did the Mount Batur exploration climb co-organized by the host, and it was amazing and great value.

Too many problems, recommend to stay away

We had a great experience with our Mount Batur hike, thanks to our guide Yuni. This was arranged through the hotel. The room is okay and it’s a quiet hotel. The pool is nice. Communication on WhatsApp with Mowgli was good and quick.

Quite some points unfortunately. Lots of noise at night from motorbikes and dogs. There is construction going on directly next to the hotel. The direct view is building sites. Different to what we expected. The road to the hotel is absolutely horrific and very hard to reach by car or scooter. Almost all the food we ordered was.. really bad. But you don’t have much choice when you don’t feel like taking the very bumpy road to and from the hotel. Staff’s English is not good, except for the one guy. Mowgli arranged some things for us, including transport to Padangbai and the boat to Gili Air. He drove us and was really aggressive in traffic and went really fast. Once there, we were dropped off at his friends office, then taken to another office, then taken to a restaurant. It all felt a bit sketchy. We felt ‘handled’ and like we were in a scam, even though it wasn’t. It was just the way things went. Mowgli is friendly and helpful, but at the same time it felt a bit off and very different from our previous encounters on Bali. We recommend finding another place to stay, nearer to Kintamani Coffee, where there are more restaurants and coffee places. Or maybe just doing the Mt Batur hike from Ubud. We did not really find the area worthwhile to stay in overall. Thanks again to Yuni whose company we absolutely enjoyed. We took the longer route down from the top, where we did not encounter any more tourists. Well worth it. All the best! UPDATE: We have entered multiple reviews through Google which disappeared not much later. I think they are deleting reviews? Google now says the hotel is permanently closed. Maybe to counter bad reviews. Hopefully they are able to improve on things.

Didn’t live up to expectations for the price paid and for what the pictures show online.

Big spacious room. Comfy bed. Wifi was good. Mowgli was good at organising. Nice views

The wait for food and water. There was no refill water station. Some staff had limited English at times which made it difficult. It doesn’t look exactly like it does in pictures online.

In a convenient location for the Mount Batur hike.

The villas were in a very poor location that was extremely difficult to get to. There is no where around to get food and no supermarkets. The breakfast choices were poor. The room was ok but smelt strong of garlic. No one cleaned our room or topped up our water and it was very noisy. Book your mount Batur trek before arrival as we used ‘Mowgli’ (based at the hotel) who over charged us. He claimed we were paying extra for a longer and better hike but not where everybody else went. This was definitely not the case when we got there we were hiking up the mountain with the other hundreds of people.

Convinient and chill for your Batur experience.

Green areas with a gorgeous mountain and one view, the rooms were spacious and the pool view was super nice, convenient restaurant. We loved Mowgli, he’s in charge and makes everything easy and nice for us, we booked our Batur tour with him, then he took us to the spring waters and even to Ubud, so a totally worries free trip and we made the best of our trip in Kintamani thanks to his lovely attitude and hard work.

I guess it’s just for the location and season but the room was super humid and the bathroom smelly, was clean but had a strong smell that I don’t think they can do much about it, we put some perfume and got over it, we didn’t use the pool because was super cold but it’s nice to lay down there and take the sun enjoying the view.

Beautiful views, just like the pictures Room was very lovely, big comfortable bed Mowgli our tour guide, was absolutely fantastic! You can book him when you get there. We did a Mount Batur sunrise trek and also he drove us to our next stay in Ubud via a fantastic coffee plantation. He taught us a lot about the Balinese culture, and was just such a lovely, helpful guy! Lovely pool Very clean!

Food was average and not a lot around so it is your only option. Did the job though!
