Lovely Home and perfect spot with limited kitchen

the house is a period weatherboard home on a sloping block with 3 split levels - level 1 is the top level accessed via the street frontage. Other people stay on the below levels so there is some noise filtering up below, though wasn't too bad. The house is lovely with high ceilings, really large bedrooms and bathroom and nice cosy lounge room with big TV - all rooms have split system A/C. Location is perfect, a short walk to Ponsonby rd which is trendy with restaurants, cafes and clothing shops. And walkable to the city centre (30 mins) and you clearly see the sky tower from the bedroom window. It is quite hilly around the area, but that is NZ all over. Parking was easy enough out the front, but make sure you get a pass from the host though they are very responsive

It was sold with a kitchen, but in reality it is not overly useable. A small bench with sink is crammed into a corner near the stair banister with no stove top or oven. They provide a portable electric hot plate and electric fry pan but with little bench space to prepare it is not overly practical. the kitchen table only sits 4 and is in an awkward spot that is hard to gain access to all chairs. As a family of 5 we wanted to self cater, but in the end we had to do more of ready made meals or takeaway. If meal prep is not high on your agenda this is not a deal breaker. also there weren't enough bowls for each person, which was disappointing.

All round the property was nice & worked for the 6 guests, yet the problems raised above ruined it.

The location was great for access to Auckland CBD and the day/night life. Complimentary parking was good, though had to wait one time for someone to leave before could access the space.

THREE major things. 1) The washing machine door would not open after being used for several people's clothes. We spent ages on the phone and eventually (using the "help-line" advice) used some string to unlock the door. It then became obvious that this was a LONG-TERM PROBLEM (which after wasting a whole evening on it) should have been mended months ago. 2) When we left and did a sweep, behind the sofa was filthy, with old food wrappers and even a half-eaten chapati there! 3) Biggest gripe. I started the process of booking this with Booking.com at one price, but by the time I had filled in all the EXTENSIVE information required (even needing to do a Video for ID!) the price had risen by about 30 dollars or so from what it was at the start. I checked with Air B&B and it was still the original price. Booking.com would not honor the so called "Price Guarantee" which became ANOTHER total waste of time and effort trying to claim. I have used Booking.com for over 10 years with no prior complaints, yet this booking left a very bitter taste in mine and all the guests' mouths. We ALL strongly feel Booking.com should offer some compensation or credit for the above occurrences. Thanks

We found the location easy to access Ponsonby Road and other activities if we needed to go by car.

The villa was light, comfortable and clean

The instructions for getting into the property were not accurate and the communication for accessing was difficult. A written compendium would be helpful for things like the wifi access, where things were in the kitchen as access to stove elements etc were in a cupboard that was very high above the sink. Only 3 wineglasses when there was 4 of us staying and non-of the glasses matched. No Kitchen paper towels. Large amount of saucepans but difficult to access portable elements. Dining area very cramped for 4 people, not suitable for a 3 bedroomed house. White bath towels were quite stained. Not very clear on how to use vehicle parking as we had 2 vehicles, although there was ample on-street parking spaces.

The location was excellent. So close yo the city. Slept group of 6 comfortably.

Really no balcony to sit and enjoy the view. Can’t feed all 6 at one table - table only for 4 people. Not really a kitchen to cook from. One bathroom.

We had on going issues with access to the property. Many emails and phone calls then we would receive an automated email asking for all the same information again. The same issue with trying to confirm a parking permit. Frustrating to deal with people located remotely and who have no connection to the property, when things aren’t working out.

The location was great and beds very comfortable. All three bedrooms were big with plenty of wardrobe and hanging space

The property wasnt very clean. Window sills had black dust on the ledges, the staircasewas thick with dust and had tissues balled up. Although it was blocked off with a baby gate, you could see how dirty it was below the kitchen area. we found young cockroaches in the kitchen and lounge The kitchen layout was strange and not very practical. No easy to use cooking facilities

Lovely old, warm character home right in town, quiet neighborhood, easy access to get all around Auckland. Free parking. Prompt in addressing issues (leaky dishwasher, new door lock battery).

Slightly niggly platform to use to communicate with the host (via a management company) meant dealing with different people at each interaction.

Goid location but dealing with booking.com agent in Europe was awful. Very slow responce to question

Location was good

Heap pump filters hadnt been cleaned in a long time which meant 3 out of 4 werent working properly. Impossible to speak to someone local to sort so in the end had to clean filters outselves. Coffee machine was broken - still made coffee but water leaked everywhere, cannister to collect capsules missing and milk frother didnt heat milk. Tried to get sorted but again no one locsl so had to call overseas and email. No help in fixing it in 4 days. Really poor, was a very simple fix.

The house was very clean and well appointed. We enjoyed it very much.

We had an emergency with a smoke alarm that went off and called a 24/7 number and did not have a very good response from them. Ultimately, the alarm stopped on its own. While we were away at the wedding, which is why we rented this property in the first place, someone entered the house and removed the alarm. It would have been a nice if someone had called or emailed to let us know they had done this. Also, there was a light that was on for most of the weekend that we think the tenants below us had inadvertently turned on. It is the light over the staircase. We called to ask to have the light turned off, but no one helped with that. I would also say I had far too many emails from houst and booking.com so that when I needed to find the appropriate help phone number, I don't think I used the best number. This should have been more clear. The number from "Robyn's support team" was not helpful.

Enjoyed this excellent location.

Brilliant location just a short walk to Ponsonby Rd and all it offers. Also was quite easy to walk to downtown Auckland. The street was surprising quiet and we could park right outside. The Villa was beautiful with spacious comfortable bedrooms.

The only downside was that while the bedrooms were spacious the rest of the space was quite small. This was not a problem for us as we spent very little time inside as there was a lot close by to explore.

Schöne Tage in Auckland

Die Wohnung liegt fußläufig entfernt von der Innenstadt, in einer ruhigen Seitenstraße. Es gibt Parkplätze, Parks und kleine Geschäfte und Restaurants. Von der Wohnung aus schaut man direkt auf den Skytower und die wunderschöne Skyline. Die Wohnung ist sehr schön eingerichtet und super gemütlich. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt. Eine glatte 10 von 10!
