The cherry on top

Michelle and Arthur are the epitome of welcoming Irish Inn keepers, they know the area and the stories. They are truly a gift to the profession and the country. They will put the whipped cream and cherry on top of the already amazing visit!

Lovely place to stay near Drogheda

Perfect location, right outside of Drogheda. The room was very comfortable, warm, and had everything we needed. Great value for money.

Beautiful house - and very handy for Newgrange!

A beautiful house and gardens, with super friendly hosts. Loved the location and the room. Breakfast was cosy and friendly, albeit all guests at one large table which doesn't suit everyone's taste. We were fine and enjoyed chatting. Freshly cooked and served up, plenty of good coffee too with wheaten bread. Yum.

Our room had a private bathroom across the hall, which someone else kept using!! Definitely not us!!

Nice stay in a lovely location

Great location for Boyne Valley sites. Friendly hosts. Comfortable room with en-suite. Continental breakfast was delicious, good variety.

Just a couple of little things - only 2 towels in the bathroom, no hand towel or face washers. Check in isn’t until 5pm. Breakfast only until 9am.

Fantastic.

This house is very close to the Battle of Boyne site, with a beautiful walled garden and tea room. Hosts were lovely, great advice. The Brabazon Restaurant where we had dinner is exceptional! We visited new grange - it’s very handy.

What a superb stay, our breakfast and conversation were the best. Arthur was a delight and so interesting.

Everything was just lovely. Clean, well looked after and the property was easy to find using the code the owners give you. The breakfast was plentiful. With so much attention to detail. So peaceful here. Welcome and friendly.

Room we had was on first floor so difficult taking luggage up, and bathroom was across the hallway. This is not about the property but more so about our access needs. We should have checked!

A very pleasant stay indeed

We stayed with the owner couple in the same building which was the first time experience for us in many years traveling. They were so friendly and humorous. We had lots of pleasant conversations. With their suggestion we also had a good time in the nearby area where some prehistoric sites were discovered recently. It’s definitely worthy to stay there & visit the nearby place. The property is very clean and comfortable with a really big garden & very interesting stories.

Overall a delightful stay.

Arthur was lovely. Breakfast was a feast. He was very attentive to our gluten-free traveler’s needs. He was a font of information and stories. We enjoyed seeing his workshop and some of the completed projects.

The bedroom was too small for four people and luggage. A bit cramped and awkward.

The house, yard, and host are all amazing. This was a true slice of life in Ireland. The beds were comfortable and the breakfast in the morning was wonderful. We loved talking with the host, who gave us some history and showed us around. He made the stay extra-special.

Very quiet location a few steps from the Boyne riverside walk. Very friendly owners. Convivial and informal continental breakfast with delicious bread around the large kitchen table. Everywhere spotlessly clean.

The Roman blind didn't keep out the morning sun (from 5.30 a.m. in May). Would like something with more blackout capabilities.

An unforgettable stay – authentic Irish hospitality at its finest We stayed in the main house in a beautiful, spacious en suite room that was cosy, peaceful, and completely silent—just what we needed for a restful night. I was back home in Ireland and brought my partner (who's from England) with me. I really wanted her to experience a proper Irish welcome, and Michelle and Arthur absolutely delivered. From the moment Michelle greeted us and showed us around, we felt completely at ease. The setting is stunning—surrounded by tranquil countryside, friendly horses, and a sunset that was nothing short of magical. What makes this place truly special is the people. Michelle, Arthur, and their son were gracious, warm, and thoughtful hosts. They struck that rare perfect balance: giving us the space to relax, while also being completely open to conversation. Naturally, we found ourselves chatting for ages—on everything from travel to culture to life in general. They're incredibly well-travelled, with a wide-ranging knowledge and open-minded perspective that made for some of the most enriching conversations we’ve had in a long time. This isn’t just a great place to stay—it’s an experience. If you're looking for a real Irish welcome near the UNESCO World Heritage site of Brú na Bóinne, this place comes second to none. Whether you're visiting from overseas or returning home like I was, Michelle and Arthur will make you feel part of something truly special. Highly, highly recommended—100%.

Quiet location with only very faint noise from motorway. Very close to key places of interest and Drogheda. Only ~30 minutes from Dublin airport. Spacious room. Own bathroom opposite (not en-suite) in very secure private house.

Magical place!❤️

Michelle and Arthur are welcoming, responsive and accommodating hosts! Arthur made the best coffee we’ve had so far on our trip! Breakfast was lovely, the grounds are beautiful with really amazing walking (or running) trails very near that pass through the Battle of the Boyne area, comfy beds, lovely place, very near Newgrange and Dowth as well! Michelle’s dinner restaurant suggestion “Tribe” in Duleek was great! with an ancient church ruins and cemetery on the grounds. The whole stay was magical, even our 21 year old daughters loved it. Seeing Arthur’s handmade traditional Irish fishing boat was the frosting on the cake. We loved Buvinda🫶

Good location but overall disappointing

Good location for New Grange and Battle of Boyne Hosts were nice and friendly The room was okay with two beds.

No heating in the morning, despite frost outside. Bathroom is in urgent need of repairs (window latch, toilet cistern, walls, shower caddy were all broken or cracked) Only two towels were provided, and one had marks. Toiletries were a mixed bunch of more or less empty left-over bottles. Breakfast – unfortunately I was not able to take a photograph. It is okay for us to have no cooked breakfast and there was porridge, cereal, bread, pastries, fruit, cheese, sausage, jam, etc on offer. However the presentation was abysmal with everything just placed randomly on the table. It left the impression as if we were taking over from someone else’s family breakfast.

The warmest of greetings!

A beautiful setting slightly outside the town. I had a larger room than booked and it was so comfortable. The hosts were so friendly and generous with their knowledge of the area. I really enjoyed the free flowing discussion over breakfast with the family.

It was a little tricky to find as I arrived in a wild stormy afternoon and heading to town in the car, for dinner, despite instructions, was a challenge. Google maps was more helpful than the car navigation system as it knew where roads were closed!

Very pleasant stay with lovely hosts.

The light breakfast of delicious porridge with fruits and/ or honey with tea and toast suited me perfectly as I'm not one for Irish breakfast fry ups. The location was great- easible accessible off the motorway for us as a stopover on way to NI. The hosts very good recommendation on where to go for an evening meal.
