Casa di Maria

This is one of the most spectacular, special places I have ever stayed. The view from the back garden is simply incredible and the house is spotless and has everything you need. George is fantastic and helps you with anything you need.

Everything was to love about Casa di Maria! The place dreams are made of.So much so I’m not sure I want to share this amazing place! George our super host was a standout . He was a great communicator, greeted us where he gave directions to a car space & helped with luggage. He had stocked the fridge with some cold beers & fresh fruit which was so thoughtful. George had so many thoughtful provisions including a washing machine which is a real bonus when travelling away for 5 weeks. The standout was a location that would be hard to beat for the value for money. Located astoundingly right beside the unesco Venetian foretezza which as it happens is one of the garden walls! What a view from under an olive tree in the front garden where we spent many hours beneath reading from sunrise to sunset. The setting is so special & we really enjoyed sunset best view right from the garden on the wooden sunset chairs.The beautiful sea we swam in every day was a walk down a steepish path & a great taverna & restaurant were also down the path or location was right on the edge of the old town Rethymno so a walk was so close to access excellent restaurants & getting lost in the meandering streets.

Nothing at all for us. Not an issue for us but anyone with mobility issues this will not be a suitable location due to the steps & steep access & George clearly communicates this.

Location - within old town and with amazing ocean views. The house itself was comfortable, well stocked with both a front verandah and a spacious back living space and garden,

The elderly or infirm would struggle with the steep access path. However, if you are of reasonable fitness - it was fine.
