The Red Lion

The room was large and comfortable with a good en suite bathroom. The bed was comfortable and had nice bedding. There were plenty of supplies for in room refreshments and access to an iron and board. There was a private entrance at the side of the building which we had a key for and the bar area is large and comfortable.

The breakfast was very basic and not really adequate. The kitchen was shut so there was no food served in the evening which left us to choose from a limited range in the Town.

The room was very comfortable, large and well furnished. Excellent shower room. Breakfast was excellent on both days prepared by a local cook drafted in specially - we were the only people staying on the first night

We were missing a bedside lamp on one side, but as there were no staff available we had to "borrow" an lamp from an adjoining room. The next day a lamp was provided but was small/low and annoying. Very disappointed to discover on arrival that the restaurant was closed, only the bar was open. We tried the other pub in the town and they also were not cooking, so we ate at the only place open The Tandoori Restaurant which was OK but not what we wanted. On the second night we did get some food at the other pub [The Court House] but only because we had asked the previous night - we were the only people eating there.
