We loved the Mole Resort

This hotel is set in beautiful surroundings. Just couldnt get enough of those views. We stayed in the manor house with its gorgeous decor. It felt very grand! The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is amazing and the chef was very accommodating about my intolerences with plenty of options. A real treat for me as i am used to few to choose from. There are activities to do for adults and kids and some nice walks around. It is very dog friendly and whilst we didnt bring ours this time we would definitely in future. We will be coming back hopefully soon.

Minor issue - Charging points for ev were an issue. The two by the manor house were out of order and signposted as such. There are two by the indoor pool and only one was actually working. The other putting out 2kw meaning it would need 25 hours to charge. We drove 30 mins to charge instead. So i would not count on topping up here or do it immediately upon arrival. Real issue of the hotel is busier. But as i say super chargers are around in Barnstaple. So i would just plan ahead. But for the hotel if you say you have onsite charging, 1 point giving the equivalent of a 3 pin plug just isnt it.

Service in the restaurant on the Friday night was very slow in the restaurant. I expect this was due to the takeaway orders for the lodges but disappointing. Staff did compensate for this though

The setting, the breakfast, the room, the staff all great.

The map of the resort wasn't very clear so I was wandering in the rain for too long before I worked out where my room was. Get more details at check in to save time and frustration. Still I loved it and would stay again.

Exceptional stay - beautifully peaceful - thank you

Our experience was exceptional. Having travelled extensively for leisure, Jordan and I both agreed this was by far the most relaxing stay we’ve ever enjoyed. The location is beautifully peaceful, completely hassle‑free weekend, and the staff were wonderfully friendly throughout the stay - including cleaning lady, reception and restaurant staff. Food and drinks were delicious at all times. Everyone made us feel very special. The drive to the property was very scenic. We loved it all and will be coming back - thank you.

pleasant stay

Area and general stay was amazing, staff were so friendly and helpful and pleasant and they are a credit to the venue. Evening meals were superb, very good value and so were our breakfasts. During the rain, we enjoyed the games in The Hub. The pool and spa were clean.

The room wasn't as nice as we expected, poor lighting, really slow water pressure in the shower, the carpet was a bit grubby, and it felt cold on arrival with a hint of a damp smell. Terrible TV reception, not that we watched it alot, but if we had wanted to have watched a film, it would have been poor viewing!! Compared to our previous stay in the lodge, we were a bit disappointed. The showers in the spa were cold and no shower gel was provided, which wasn't a big deal as we just returned to our room. And no towels were available at the spa reception as they had run out...

Overnight work stay

Good selection at breakfast - choice of hot items cooked to order. Hot pastries & good coffee. Comfy bed, good sized room. Water provided in Tetrapac rather than plastic bottles.

Check in was a little slow but staff were providing good information for !st time guests.

Location

USB point in room not working therefore couldn't charge phones or hearing aids. Reported but not resolved. Kettle plug on the floor under the table. Had to get on hands and knees to plug in. Large piece of aluminium food lid in dinner.

Location beautiful, room not so much

The location is beautiful. The dinner was very nice. Ample parking.

We had an executive junior suite, but there wasn't anything executive about it really. It had an entrance hall into the room but no lounge area, which you expect with a suite. The room was dated and the bathroom was tired. The shower had no power. Could really do with being refurbished.

The hotel, staff, resort and food was fantastic. We only stayed for one night but would highly recommend. We had a lovely dog package waiting for us in our hotel room. I would recommend if you are bringing your dog, there are lots of dog friendly parts including dinner and breakfast. All the staff were great to deal with, a 10/10 from us.

Fabulous one night stay in the Manor House, highly recommend this lovely resort.

Easy check in, friendly staff and a fabulous room in the Manor House. Warm, cosy, comfortable and exceptionally clean - with the added bonus of bath robes and slippers. The eveing meal in the restaurant was delicious (special mention to Devlin who excelled at customer care) Breaskfast was one of the best we have had anywhere - a huge array of cereals, fresh fruit, pastries etc followed by a beautifully cooked selection. Again the staff were very attentive and helpful. The swimming pool, steam room and sauna were all very clean and easily accessible.

Lovely hotel, amazing views and grounds and gorgeous rooms

Beautiful hotel and grounds. We stayed in the Manor House and it had amazing views over the valley (as I think all lodges have), was beautifully decorated and the restaurant was close by and decent (although not exceptional) breakfast was lovely but a very small portion of the hot food which felt a little stingy. We didn’t use any of the facilities but looked like a lot going on and would definitely consider coming back with kids! Hotel room had rituals shower products and a lovely shower and comfy bed, and we couldn’t ask for more!

Very relaxing, good facilities, beautiful location, friendly staff and an excellent restaurant

Beautiful location. Our room was in a converted outbuilding overlooking a small garden. It was a good size, with a comfortable bed, plenty of storage space, a desk, and a table. The bathroom was quite spacious, though there were signs of damp on the walls. We ate at the restaurant on the first evening and the food was fantastic. The breakfast was excellent, apart from the scrambled eggs (see below) There was a great modern building with a cafe/bar, and lots of different games, such as Shuffleboard and Table Tennis

On the second day, I opted for smoked salmon and scrambled eggs for breakfast. The eggs were really dry and unappetizing. The jacuzzi wasn't working on the first day (but was fixed by the second day)

Fab stay!

My partner and I visited for his birthday. We really enjoyed our trip. The staff were helpful and polite, and the grounds were beautiful. We made good use of the spa, game room, and restaurant/bar, we found all these areas to be enjoyable and welcoming and felt comfortable relaxing and enjoying our time there. We had a great time in onsite in the morning after our checkout. We spent a while in the game room and then a few hours in the spa relaxing before returning home!

The heating in our room went off overnight. When I contacted the team the next morning, they were responsive to my enquiries, but lack of heating left us chilly overnight. We would have been more comfortable if we had had control over the heating. We didn't watch TV a lot, but when we did, it didn't feel like an easy experience. The system felt quite long-winded and unintuitive. In the spa if would have helped to have some shampoo and body wash available.

Such a lovely location, beautiful grounds, staff helpful, food lovely, really good value for money.

The room was very very hot at night despite it being autumn. I switched the radiators off, but the room I was in only had one opening window (and due to where my room was located leaving open throughout the night not possible), therefore personally didn’t get a good night sleep. The room also slightly more dated than the pictures looked online.

We had a fabulous stay from start to finish. The room was amazing and the bed was very comfortable. The view over the gardens was lovely and very peaceful. The staff were very attentive a special mention to Kelly in reservations and Ella the Bar Manager and Evie in the restaurant made our stay special.

The carpet in the bedroom was badly stained and could do with cleaning. A mini bar would be helpful in the room.

Our room by the courtyard was spacious and very peaceful. Bed comfortable. Good range of channels on the TV.

Has great potential

The restaurant staff were fantastic! The leisure facilities were very enjoyable. (I didn't have any treatments so can't comment.)

The properties are worn out and sadly need work. I stayed in an estate room and had to be moved due to the condition of the room. (I think rooms in the Manor House could likely be better). It would be more enjoyable if there were more 'coffee stations' around the site, places to sit inside/out which are comfortable.

Lovely peaceful 2 night break!

Hotel building full of character and charm. Lovely grounds with separate lodges too. Fantastic views of countryside. Selection of free activities available too.

Nothing apart from a few miles of narrow country lanes to get there. We did find one route out with slightly wider lanes. But that shouldn’t put you off once you are forewarned.

A great one night stay, we hope to come again later this year to a lodge.

I was able to take my dog everywhere during this one night break. The only place he was not allowed was the swimming pool. We were very pleased to receive a doggy welcome pack when going to our room. The grounds and main house are gorgeous.

The bathroom in our room was functional but very dated and I would suggest needs an upgrade.

Great location in the Countryside ideal for families, but room could be a distance from facilities.

Dining/breakfast room very pleasant with good views over the countryside. Food was very good but a bit on the pricey side and not a great selection. Lovely grounds to walk around in if weather permits. Staff very friendly. Have games room for the family plus other activities if you wish to try them at an extra cost.

First room shown was well away from the facilities entered by a number of stairs and very dark once you were in, would have got soaked going to the dining area. Receptionist changed room which was much closer and brighter but had steps to the bathroom. Swimming pool was cold as heating broken. Automatic 12.5% tip put on food bill without notice. Golf course and snooker table removed.

Beautiful views

We stayed in the manor for 1 night b&b, our room was clean and comfortable, the cooked breakfast was great and a selection of alternative milks are available for cereals etc. This is a stunning location and the mole resort offers lots of outdoor spaces and activities. The staff were friendly and helpful, we made use of the pool, steam room and sauna - included with your stay. We loved the morning room & drawing room in the manor house, communal lounges with views of the lawns and valley. Would highly recommend a stay and hope to come back again.

Despite the problems and issues we encountered, it was a very quiet and relaxing place to stay and the staff were fantas

There is plenty of garden space and woodland to walk around and explore in addition to many activities available the majority of which are included with your stay. This includes the leisure centre which has a gym, pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room as well as exercise classes. The views were incredible and it was very quiet when we stayed there. One thing I cannot fault is the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and would go out of their way to make sure that you had a great stay. The only thing I would say is that it is located in quite a remote area and there is only really one town close by (about 15 minutes by car) so if you want to go anywhere else to visit or for shopping then you would certainly have to drive quite far to get there.

Cleanliness wasn’t entirely on point. We stayed in the Manor House and there were a few problems in our room. Apart from a bulb not working in one of the lamps (which is quite a trivial issue), the plug in the sink wouldn’t open fully, the tv signal wasn’t great, the mattress was rock hard and uncomfortable, there were binds on the windows which were fine but very slow to close with the chain and in addition there was curtains but they were not wide enough to cover the windows and did not come fully across stopping at a certain point. And finally the door; after using the lock and releasing it again you’d have to jiggle the handle a few times before you could open the door. Also the food in the restaurant wasn’t that great at all. Breakfast wasn’t bad but I’ve had much better in other places.

We had the twin room in one of the meadow lodges which on a very hot day was a little stuffy, one small window that wouldn’t open very far. Didn’t sleep so well.

Country Manor House Stay in North Devon

Located in the Manor house our room was tastefully decorated and larger than expected with superb countryside views . The bed was huge and very comfortable. The ensuite bathroom was very good with a powerful shower, Cleanliness was very good.

The food in the restaurant left a lot to be desired, The staff don't seem to be able to cope with the number of diners present We had to wait 45mins to get our cooked breakfast and when it came the orders were incorrect. The bacon was like leather and tomatoes/black pudding overcooked. Evening meals were acceptable' although again took a long time to be served ! On top of this they charge a 12andhalf % service charge for the evening meals !
