Casa da Bela Vista

Our host Artuo was exceptionally helpful and courteous in many ways, including driving us to a neighbouring town and cafe for dinner, given the lack of options in Pinhao, and generally being informative and gracious. Bela Vista is impeccably clean on the inside, and we loved sitting on our large balcony with the sweeping view over the vineyards and hills down to Pinhao and the Douro River.

This is not a point of dislike but rather clarification in that the location of Bela Vista is in the village of Casal de Loivos, sitting high above the town of Pinhao, and necessitates a 15-20 Euro taxi fare

Great stay with a magnificent view to the Douro river and Pinhao. Nice view-point in 80 meters from the room. The village is pretty picturesque and an overall atmosphere is very relaxing. The host guided us to the local cafe where we could enjoy a nice artisanal dinner. Next morning breakfast was also enjoyable. There were also clear instructions from host regarding the best road to choose, and we could easily park our car within 100 m from the apartment - near the viewpoint. Closer parking spaces can be available form time to time, but some are very narrow and others are on a steep slope.

The check in was strictly before 19:00. It added quite some hassle to our trip since we had to drive on a hurry from Braga. But I think overall the host's friendly attitude and a relaxed evening in Douro valley paid off for that.

The best part of breakfast was the ripe pear.
