Hostel Douro Backpackers

Great location and our two hosts made us feel at home.

No words to describe this place. From the moment I arrived, greeted by my name and a glass of wine, to the moment I left, it was by far the highlight of my 10 day trip around Portugal. The owners Pedro & Sarah were the kindest, most generous happy people you could meet. The building is a beautiful, modern, newly renovated home, with a roof garden & terrace. Complimentary wine throughout the stay was an added bonus. Pedro took the time to tell us everything we needed to know about Pinhao, from places to eat to the most scenic hikes. I would rush back here in a heartbeat and make sure to stay longer next time. Whatever your age, I highly recommend staying here! I'm a 19 year old solo backpacker but I enjoyed chatting to the other guests who ranged from my age to their mid 70's.

Only complaint is that I should have stayed longer!

The room was comfortable the roof terrace was a great place to have a drink in the evening and meet other people. Pedro and Sarah were exceptionally friendly and helpful and made us very welcome. Great hosts

Pinhão was a highlight of my trip, definitely in part to the hospitality of Sarah and Pedro. They were so welcoming, knowledgeable about the local area and have a beautiful terraced garden to enjoy. Would stay again
