Lovely property and location.
Wifi was terrible. Not so good if you need to keep in touch with business. Telephone signal is week so wifi is essential.

Good hearing at the cottage so it was very warm. Lovely view of the sheep outside the window. Great location for local walks.
The oven was not working, on the first night I texted the cottage manager to be told that there were instructions in the information booklet. I then didn’t hear anything until the penultimate evening at 20:30 asking if we’d sorted it with some advice from the cleaner on how to make it work, then after checkout received a text saying actually the manual for the oven had been removed from the information booklet and actually there’s a quirk of after the oven is switched on at the wall it needs to have the clock reset to work. So basically we were made to feel like we were stupid and didn’t know how to work an oven and were too dumb to find the manual when actually there’s no manual in the cottage and there’s a quirk to making it work. This put a real dampener on the stay as clearly they didn’t care to help us resolve the issue we were having while we were staying there, but offers us advice which turns our wasn’t the key piece of advice to make it work after we’d cooked all our meals using the grill section which did work and were packing to leave. There are so many notes around the property about a £50 fine if the pins aren’t taken out or the dishwasher isn’t empty but the cottage manager didn’t care to help us when they actually could have helped resolved the issue and instead made us feel like we were stupid.
The pillows were incredibly uncomfortable and we didn’t get a good night sleep. It was so bad we didn’t stay for our final night.
The cottage is advertised as dog friendly but there are notes that dogs are not allowed on the bed, this is clearly not dog friendly just dog tolerant.
No freezer in the property so couldn’t freeze our ice packs for the drive home.

Not that it was anyone's fault but due to a fatal crash traffic was diverted through the village which made it very noisy. My partner is 6ft 3 kept hitting his head on the beams despite the signs !!!

This was a wonderful place in a quiet village, perfect for what we we wanted. There was wildlife on the doorstep and Fineshades woods was a must for a visit and a lovely walk with an excellent cafe.

self catering so N.A
Nothing really, I did put the recycling bin out but it wasn't collected and I'm not sure if it was because the bin needed to be more full or if recyclables need a special bag as they do where we live.

the sheep at the back, lovely area and cute little cottage.
There was no heating so the cottage was very cold throughout our stay. We weren’t supplied with washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets, but we were expected to have all our dishes put through the washer before departing.

Comfy and cosy cottage in a beautiful location, near to Fineshade and Wakerley woods, Rutland Water, and quaint English towns. Fully stocked kitchen utensils, lovely bath, comfy bed, and a selection of games and dvds provided, as well as a helpful information pack. Good heating, hot water, and cooker. A home away from home!
No salt and pepper in the kitchen - very little to complain about!

This thatched cottage is delightful, very warm and cozy and well equipped with everything needed in the kitchen to cook full meals. It is a short distance from Wakerley Woods with its lovely walks. It is a mile or so to Borrowden where there is a well stocked community run shop and a pub. Plenty of info was sent prior to arrival which was important given the covid pandemic and was easy to find.
The bed is amazingly creaky and perhaps the mattress ought to be turned as it is a bit saggy in the middle. There is no parking on site and it would be dangerous to park on the road immediately outside the cottage. There is space however further down the lane.

Lovely cosy cottage in peaceful location.

The cottage is very pretty and quaint, but also warm and comfortable. A very good base for exploring Rutland and near great woodland walks
The bed settee could be more comfortable for sitting in in the evenings, and it would be a tight fit if more than two shared the cottage. I think ther should be s warning about the parking arrangements. It's a fast road, and carrying everything along the road I'd a bit tricky. I'd describe the garden as small, not extensive, but adequate for me and my dogs.
