Arrived on the hottest day of the year and greeted with cold beers by the owner and her team. We then invited to a BBQ to save us going out for dinner so the welcome was spot on. The rooms are large and were spotless. Throughout our visit we were made to feel more like family than paying guests.
The property as has been mentioned countless times is yards / mitres from the A1 expect it to be noisy but the owners can’t alter this! If you are looking for a clinical, anonymous hotel forget this place. It’s a house full of character and history. I guarantee you will be made welcome- my advice is go with the flow.

Convenient at the time.
I should have checked better. It was on the side of a very busy and noisy highway. Not near any eating places on a Sunday evening.

Good sized room
Unfortunately I found the mattress too hard in the main bed and the sheets were stained. The road noise was significant but that wasn't unexpected as it was very close to the a1 however the widow wouldn't shut which would have helped
