Superb Host and staff who couldn't do enough to help us. Breakfasts were very good with plenty of choice and good quality ingredients. We were given a choice of accommodation and plenty of flexibility. Lots of parking space. Carol the owner was very approachable and happy to accommodate requests and provide information.

Only things that cant really be changed - The property is old so some parts are awkward and a bit tired - Creaky stairs and floors. For Motorcycles the gravel drive is hard packed and solid but still a little awkward to manoeuvre motorcycles about on vs tarmac or concrete - Not a problem for cars. Being Right on the A1 means traffic noise - which didn't stop us sleeping but can be an issue for some and getting in and particularly out going North onto the A1 is quite scary. Theres a backroad route which is worth the extra 5 minutes to avoid this.

We arrived quite late, absolutely exhausted having had a very early start in order to go down to a funeral in Eastbourne. The lovely landlady saw how tired we were and asked if we would like a cup of tea, to which the answer was a resounding 'yes'. Not only did she make us tea but she also brought it up to our room. That is going the 'extra mile' considering they had already supplied all that is necessary for making tea in the room. The breakfast was superb and all the people involved we very helpful and friendly. The property is very easily accessed from the A1 and is an excellent stop. A big 'Thank You' to the team.

There isn't anything we didn't like.

The location of this property is ideally suited to travellers along the A1, as it is right on the roadside. The staff were very friendly and helpful and called to ensure everything was in order. Nothing was too much trouble. The breakfast was excellent value and delicious in a beautiful room as part of original house

The bed was very uncomfortable because the mattress was too soft and the cottage where we stayed was a little tired, although the bath was excellent and there was plentiful hot water. Our cottage was in need of some tlc and updating but charming all the same.
