Oakham, 4 miles, is packed full of heritage and enjoys an array of local facilities including high street and independent shops, cafés, tearoom and restaurants. The local train station is just over 3½ mile and links to Birmingham New Street via Melton Mowbray and Leicester and Stansted Airport or Cambridge via Peterborough. There are also trains to London St Pancras from Oakham. Oakham also boasts a small castle and museum along with markets. Melton Mowbray (also around 4 miles) is famous for the home of the pork pie is also full of shops, pubs and restaurants.
