Brae Guesthouse

Terraced house on the outskirts of Edinburgh on the main bus route to the city. Doesnt have breakfast option but a short walk away is a supermarket and cafe. There is tea and coffee making facilities, hairdryer, fridge. Spacious family room, clean bathroom. A lock box system with a code and wifi code which opened front doors and bedroom. Very comfortable. Suit couples or family of 4.

The house was dated but that didnt affect the overall stay. Nice quiet area away from hustle and bustle of the city. Would recommend for short stay. The bus stop is across the road and a good tip is to get an all day return ticket. Easy to get around the city then .

Problems with shower head staying in place. No teaspoons provided. Cleaners will have to up their game.

Good bus connection and nice neighbourhood. It was cost effective as we booked it during bank holiday when the running festival was taking place. The room had essentials like clean bedsheets, towel, and a pretty good TV with Netflix and other apps. The bathroom was refurbished and had continuous hot water. We were surprised by the tumble down service, our beds were made. Communication on the app was clear for gaining entry to the property.

We didn't see a reception, it may have been in another building - so it was a bit hard to have a one on one chat regarding some requirements like extra towels etc. The drawers were a bit dusty and lots of pamphlets in many of them - we didn't really use them much for this reason. Also, the bathroom although refurbished had some issues with the shower door being loose.

Very nice location, walkable to grocery and easy access to public transportation

Very outdated and in need of some renovation. I was in the single room, the room had too much furniture for the size of the room. Bed frame was wobbly and the coffee stand was a table the looked like it was cut in half. Walls need to be repaired and painted. The bathroom for this room was private, however you had to go down the hall and be sure to take keys otherwise you would be locked out, this was a very inconvenient set up.
