Permanent green light in room spoiled my stay

Good breakfast, nice staff.

There was a green safety ceiling light on in my room, the WHOLE night, I couldn't turn it off, I even tried to turn off the lighting ring on the fuse board with no luck, so very annoying.

Very comfortable stay and great value for money.

We had a nice room with double and single beds. Lovely clean bathroom. Nice dining room and very hearty full English breakfast. Overall great stay.

My only observation is that the TV could do with a bit of an upgrade.

Convenient location. Facilities OK. Plenty of heating. Good car parking.Friendly host.

Windowless room with skylight. Possibly a converted industrial building. Felt claustrophobic. Bed uncomfortable for both of us. Room was noisy due to plumbing system from neighbouring rooms.

Great stopover near A1 at Newark

Great location near Newark and the A1, spotlessly clean, comfortable, good shower and bed - excellent light levels in bedroom. Good breakfast, hospitable host… ability to put the heating on in the room …. Excellent in every way.

Fabulous bed

There was parking just outside the room. The room was spacious and the bed was huge and really comfortable. Despite backing onto a pub garden, it was really quiet and we both slept well. It was nice to have a sofa in the room too. The breakfast was delicious and freshly cooked by the host.

Great stay and easy to get too ... missed the pub and local area due to travel plans.

Only stayed the one night unfortunately as was fully booked the night before as my plans changed. Just used the room for a nights rest as was on the road early the next day so missed breakfast. Missed the local pub and walk around the area as was invited out for dinner and by the time I got to the accommodation it was already dark and after a long day, with an early start the next day just slept and then left.

Cooked to order, very very nice

Nice setting for country walks. room was bit dated, therefore bit grimey round the edges especially bathroom, bed lumpy. Wardrobe barely tall enough to hang a shirt , we just hung our dress, suit on outside, as we were attending a wedding.

Nice Break Away

Easy to find, pub next door plus went for a meal at The Inn on the Green pub which was good. Room was clean, comfortable and the wifi worked well. Breakfast was lovely and the host made us welcome

5 meet up for a Newark adventure!

We were 5 friends meeting up from various UK locations. We each had our own room with great facilities. Sue was extremely hospitable and provided us with glasses to go with the fizz we brought with us! We had hoped to eat in pub next door but unfortunately they had no chef. Again, Sue gave us an excellent recommendation of a local Thai. Delivered within the hour and enjoyed al fresco due to the gorgeous weather and additional cushions for the courtyard furniture provided by Sue ❤️ Following morning, the Full English breakfast was delicious. Again, Sue went out of her way to ensure we had all that we needed. Lovely 'Gem' of a place, couldn't recommend highly enough!!

Very comfortable and welcoming. We would definitely use this pretty place again.

The room and the bed were lovely. Sue, the owner and customer contact, was absolutely lovely and quickly learnt our names and welcomed us every morning. We felt we were really being looked after. The breakfast was freshly cooked however you wanted it.

The shower could have been better and was a little slippery. I do like to be able to take the shower head down but it wasn’t a major problem and would definitely not stop us going again.

It was a lovely friendly place, the staff were very friendly. The bed were comfortable, it was a very safe place to stay. The breakfast was lovely. Even my children enjoyed their stay, two teenager's and a 6 yr old.

Pleasant and quiet location

A pleasant room with a very comfortable bed. The quiet location and fenced parking area were definite advantages. The cooked breakfast was one of the best I have ever had, and the owner was genial and helpful.

Breakfast cereal options comprised only Weetabix, Cornflakes and Alpen muesli. It would be nice if the range could be extended, at least to offering granola.

Breakfast, quietness, pub behind the cottages, Sue was lovely, free parking on site

The double bed was a small double so too small, the mattress although comfortable was so soft, we were falling on the centre, the room smelt humidity, there were 2 single beds and one double bed in a tiny room so was cramped, the shower had only one head so we couldn't wash just the body avoiding the head, no blackout blind or curtains so very bright early morning, the room was really cold even in May.

Very nice accommodation and friendly host, plus lovely breakfast, would recommend.

Excellent breakfast including cereals, toast, orange juice, tea/coffee plus full English breakfast. Room was a good size. Shower was hot. Tea and Coffee making facilities in room plus TV and free wifi. Free car parking. Pub next door. Host was friendly and attentive.

The room was a little chilli when we arrived and when we got back from an evening out, but there was a plug in radiator to take the chill off. It might be useful to have a blind or curtain at the door so you can avoid natural daylight waking you up too early.
