Hostellerie Maleville, logis hôtel Pontet

Great location. Room had tea and coffee facilities. Restaurant and bar by river was good too. Staff friendly and helpful.

Parking was in paid public car park - there was another up the hill. We always managed to find a space but it may be more challenging in height of the season.

Lovely staff, good breakfast. Pretty little (tiny) seating area outside. Very central position for village.

No fridge/water in bedroom, or a make-up mirror in bathroom, which was very small.

Beautiful old building and location was excellent. Very good host. Clean room.

Reception and breakfast rooms downstairs. The receptionist, Natalie, is fantastic. Friendly, bubbly and, more importantly, helpful. She raises this hotel from ordinary to good!! The bedroom is OK; not big. The bed is good as is the bedding. Two good pillows two cushions. Two bedside shelves. Wall lights. Desk & chair with lamp. Open wardrobe & shelves unit. Tele. Heater/air con. Window over the road. Shower room is small. As is the shower cubicle. Towels are good and free toiletries. Sink, mirror and hairdryer. Soft close toilet! Breakfast (12€) is plentiful and good quality. Including farm yoghurts and locally made walnut cake. Good tea. Two round tables and chairs outside in the shade Associated restaurant down by the river. Free aperitif with your meal. I went across the road from the hotel; La Petite Tonnelle; book ahead! Beynac is fantastic. A photographers dream.

Bedroom is not big, but. Window over the ‘main drag’ doesn’t keep out all the noises. Bedroom 8, the notice in the shower room is happy to say is ‘… at the end of the line’ and to let the water ‘… run for 2 minutes’! Then there’s the issue with the shower mixer tap. One millimetre one way and the water is freezing. One millimetre too far the other and it’s scolding. And the shower head needed to be wedged still! Thin toilet paper!
