Hotel AMANO Düsseldorf

The room and bathroom were a good size. Everything was clean and orderly and the staff were friendly and helpful. The room had air conditioning which could be controlled individually and I also had the option to turn off the air conditioning completely and open the large windows instead. There was both sunlight and the option to completely close the light-blocking curtains.

There was no hot water kettle or coffee maker in the room. The mattress was a bit too soft for my taste and there were a LOT of mirrors in the room. That is not a necessarily a bad thing; It is a matter of personal preference.

Really great well-kept and modern hotel, comfortable and clean, not far from the hauptbahnhof. Lots of hotels claim to have SOUNDPROOF rooms. AMANO really does! Some amazing restaurants (Schwarzes for breakfast) and stores (Eneka for groceries) nearby. Excellent base for walking in any direction to see Düsseldorf.

Two things: 1. The listing promised a bathtub and there was only a shower, but this wasn’t a problem for me. The only problem was 2. A lot of lint coming off of the linens, enough that white dust coated the furniture and clung to the mirrors. (I included photos; we’ll see if B.com publishes them). You could see these motes floating in the air, and the problem was having to breathe it all night. It plugged up my nose and caused some coughing and throat discomfort. It comes from aggressive washing that breaks down the cotton fibers.

Good location and super friendly staff, especially the gentleman who worked behind the bar - he is a credit to the hotel. Would definitely stay there again.

The aircon did work but it wasn't very good.

Bed was miserable. Outside Airco noise
