It was a good stay. We would go back.

It is a beautiful facility, quiet and elegant. The rooms are well appointed and comfortable. We liked the fact that it is in a quiet part of Florence, across the river from the thousands of tourists, like us, who make navigating the streets almost impossible.

Our room was very hot and stuffy. We could not open the window and turning down the heat didn’t make much of a difference.

Peaceful hotel close to the sites and trattoria

It is a great location. The main sites are all within walking distance. The hotel is in the area of Florence that contains the authentic Florentine Trattoria. My favourite cookbook is Brutto and 3 of the restaurants recommended in it are 5 minutes walk from this hotel

Best place to stay in Florence

This hotel is a real gem in Florence. From the moment we arrived, it stood out as the highlight of our Tuscany trip and our third stop overall. The location is excellent, and the facilities are clean, calm, and well equipped. The room was comfortable and warm, and even the TV actually worked, which was appreciated during a rainy afternoon. Housekeeping was thorough and consistently replenished toiletries whenever needed, something that’s surprisingly often overlooked. Breakfast was another strong point. The staff were friendly and helpful, and there were thoughtful plant-based options beyond just soy milk. Reception staff were welcoming, polite, and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. Overall, there’s honestly nothing negative to say. This place does everything right

Amazing settings and very good facilities - location 15 minutes walk to centre

The peaceful settings is amazing- the upgraded modern facilities throughout are very good

The only thing negative was the smell of drainage behind reception near lift - but once you are upstairs- there was no smell

Enjoyable.

Good hotel with very friendly and welcoming staff. Everything works with little fuss. A ten minute walk to the centre from a good area of tow.

We had an issue with our room due to noisy plumbing from the next door room. We reported it to the desk who said that they would investigate, as it was clearly a "fault" due too blocked air or something. As we left that morning, we do not know how it was resolved. I will stay in the hotel again, but I would not want that room unless confident that the problem was discovered and rectified.

Good location, parking and very comfortable rooms

The property is well located, quiet, rooms very comfortable, and parking onsite which is a huge bonus ( you pay additionally for). The breakfast is good but more staff are needed as when there are a lot of people it takes a while for coffee and breakfast items to be topped up - the breakfast staff are working hard.

Staff were smoking in the courtyard of the hotel and the smoke was wafting up into our room - as non smokers this is not pleasant

Wonderful stay here - hotel has excellent staff!

This hotel is special and staff are fantastic! I was traveling with my sister and George especially… and also Giovanni at front desk went above and beyond to make our stay so nice and truly fabulous! All the staff here at hotel are super kind and helpful. Huda runs a great crew for the delicious breakfast each day. My sister and I both loved our room and the very comfortable beds.

The location is pretty far away from the main sights in tourist area so if you like to be closer to the heart of things than this hotel is not for you. Also, the prices here can be quite steep at times.

Amazing!

The size of the property is great. The location is near by shops and restaurants but the building itself is tucked away so it’s very quiet at night. The staff and the breakfast was wonderful!

The pillows were very soft and not super comfy but honestly that’s the only thing we didn’t care for so not a big deal.

Well run, comfortable and friendly

The staff at the hotel were excellent and provided us wth all the information we needed for our visit. They were particularly good on local restaurants, which they booked for us, and suggesting alternatives when the obvious attractions of Florence proved to be too crowded. We particularly enjoyed a drink at the bar with the splendid barman Adam, a master of the cocktail. The hotel is very well sited in Otrarno, a shortish walk to the centre but away from the crowds. Our room was light and spacious and an excellent breakfast was served each morning.

My only criticism is that I would have liked a little more hanging space (and hangers) for my dresses, though there was ample drawer space.

Recharge at the Horto Convento

A serene and beautiful hotel. A little oasis in the middle of a busy city. Very simple and stylish with a real convent still next door! Enjoyed a delicious cocktail prepared by a knowledgeable barman with style. Rather like the hotel. Breakfast was excellent and all staff and facilities were very professional, welcoming and efficient. Loved our bedroom garden view especially last thing at night. A memorable hotel.

The breakfast was okay, but could definitely have been improved considering 4-star hotel. The shower was clean but it was not optimal to use, when it comes to the shower handle, and the shower doors. There was one pool, however it was not clean.

We had a great stay here. The hotel is in a lovely quiet area with an easy walk into the centre. The cleaning staff deserve very high praise as the hotel is spotlessly clean. Breakfast was really enjoyable with lots of choice and excellent food which was served in a lovely relaxed room or on the terrace.

Great position in Florence, quiet, clean, some staff very pleasant and helpful - in particular Giovani who made us laugh telling us which trains to catch to Lucca on a Sunday, and Cherish who was very smiley and helpful. Good breakfast. Very pleasant gardens for a large city hotel.

Expensive for deluxe room when the window was too high to look out of and only a view of random roofs - couldn't even see the garden. Room was dark and lacking in character. Some staff on reception acted as though they were doing us a favour when answering questions or getting us a kettle and fresh milk - not much to ask when you're paying over 300 euros b&b! No information in the room about anything.

Exceeded our expectations

George and Giovanni at front desk were exceptional and made our stay so relaxing. We drove from London and stopped over in Florence before the last leg of our journey. George made us feel so welcomed and was very helpful in guiding us through the city for that evening and the following day. We couldn’t have asked for anything more. The breakfast team were so pleasant and friendly. Great team and a great place to stay in the center of Florence. Definitely coming back in Summer.

This is second time we have stayed here and it is a lovely friendly hotel but the best thing about it is the position in San Frediano area of Florence. So easy to walk the City

Must stay if coming to Florence!

This hotel exceed my expectations and was definitely worth the money! The building is from the 12th century and has been tastefully restored and turned into a beautiful hotel. We were on the top floor which had a beautiful view of the gardens. The room was very spacious and modern decor. The ceiling was exposed brick which added to the character. The buffet breakfast was delicious and had a large selection. The staff would great and offered coffee straight away (which is alway needed first thing in the morning). The staff at reception always greeted us and were very helpful. Keep in mind that this hotel is about a 10min walk for the city but I actually prefer being away centre and found the walk enjoyable. 100% recommend and would happily return!

The location is the other side of Florence ( Closer to Piazza Michaelangelo side ) and it’s generally quieter during the days since I felt people live around here. The staff is kind and the rooms were great.

For a four-star hotel, breakfast should be more varied. Hard buns! Unthinkable. Very small bathroom. There are no pan-European news channels in the television program offer.

Everything, second time staying at this hotel, on this occasion it was a little more pricey than last however it was the mid size room and the staff, room and location are excellent. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming, they made us feel very comfortable. Special thanks to Allesio the bartender who was a gentleman and really made our stay just a bit more special Ample parking Breakfast was really lovely and coffee is great, worth having breakfast included. On the less touristy side of Florence and you get to see more of the local going’s on, on leaving the hotel. Near great restaurants and bars
