The most beautiful place for your holidays in the western cape

The best location we have seen in the 7 years we travel in the western cape. A hidden gem! The garden is beautiful, so is the manor and the room. Everything is beautiful with old Dutch antiques and the rooms are designed with taste. The staff is more than friendly. Many places we have seen, were nice, but often badly maintained or not really suitable for a holiday spot. We already booked for the December 2026-Jan 2027. Need we say more?

A Place where History meets Modern Luxury.

It was so wonderful to experience the sense of history of this old Manor House - from the thick walls to the amazing wooden framed doors and windows to the beautiful silver and antique furniture - and yet we were able to enjoy the modern luxuries of a nice comfortable bathroom with separate shower and tub and double vanity. Lots of hanging and packing space in the closet. A beautiful sturdy antique bench was handy to place our luggage. Our room had a door to the patio that overlooked the swimming pool and a table was set for us every morning where we could enjoy a private breakfast that was served.

Room freshener aroma oils - I had to take it outside - it was too strong.

Luke and Leon were fabulous hosts - welcoming, generous and fun in equal measure. Comfortable, relaxed, in beautiful surroundings and with lovely staff and great facilities, including Pilates/exercise classes if you felt like a stretch - a joyful stay but too short!

Absolute Luxurious Suites in a stunning setting

Nestled perfectly between Stellenbosch and Somerset West off the R44 this stylish Cape Dutch Manor house. A large well maintained outdoor pool with plenty of Luxury loungers with SUPER thick cusioned toppers and pool towels readily available. The outside terrace of the Manor House is where breakfast is served and ALL made fresh to order. The amazing team at Vredenberg Manor are a credit to Luke and Leon who manage this property that they clearly have a passion in. The highlight was the new Modern Garden suites that truly are 5 star in their fitments and styling , from a huge bath to a seperate walk in shower and totally high end in its functionality and ease of use!! The big and beautiful rooms can be got for approx £135 ( 3000rand ) which is ridiculously good value.

Really stunning property! The manor house and its gardens are immaculate and beautiful. We stayed in the garden suites and they’re brand new and beautifully styled. Everything worked perfectly and the bed is really comfy. You couldn’t fault the property at all. The pool and gardens are amazing. It was so relaxing by the pool and all the other guests were lovely too! Leon and Luke and all the staff are incredible too and really make you feel special and can’t do enough for you. The breakfast was 10 out of 10. As they have such a high rating on booking.com I thought it would be hard to actually deserve the rating but they really do deserve it. Exceptional stay!

Fabulous hosts in wine country

We only stayed one night, but wish we could have stayed longer. Our room was perfectly appointed, the bed was cosy and we slept like babies. Our hosts were so friendly and helpful. We did the wine tractor which was just a short Uber ride away. Can’t recommend this place enough! We would come back in a heartbeat 😊

The property is superb. Beautiful old cape Dutch house set in delightful gardens - amazing birdlife.

There was only one thing that was a small issue - the bed was very high and being very short it was quite a challenge to get in and out of the bed 🙈

Little Oasis Accomodation

This is such a lovely property and grounds on a quiet road. The bed and pillows were great, overall the room was really clean and comfortable. The breakfast was delicious. We were only there for a night but I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a little oasis escape.

Fabulous stay at a beautiful Cape Dutch architecture building.

Turning of from the mainroad the entrance is already beautiful then once you enter via a gate the property, the garden is so nice and well maintained. Then you see the building, simply gorgeous, inside and out. The staff very friendly welcome. The pool area, breakfast, the 2 managers, Luke and Leon interacting with the guests it all made us feel special!

Exceptional, every small detail was carefully considered for maximum comfort. Staff kindly went above and beyond and assisted with a later than expected arrival and an early morning breakfast ahead of our flight. Thank you to the team for the lovely stay, was only one night but would certainly stay again.

Nice quiet location out side of Summerset West. Fantastic accommodation, great breakfast and host was very welcoming.

Too much mould in bathroom. Breakfast was tasty, but would prefer to be able to have choice in whether I would like to have yoghurt and fresh fruit, rather than just have it put in front of you. (was very delicious though!!). Cappucino not the best.

Breakfast was very substantial and enjoyable. We had breakfast in the breakfast room not the terrace due to weather. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location very good between Somerset West and Stellenbosch. Perfume of toiletries really lovely. Great attention to detail most appreciated.

Leon and Luke are wonderful hosts, who thought of every little thing, their attention to detail is truly commendable. We love returning to Vredenburg Manor for both business and leisure purposes. The location, so conveniently close to the airport, as well as the spectacular breakfasts, rooms and garden, are definitely worth mentioning.
