Vredenburg Manor House

As you drive up the driveway to Vredenburg Manor House, you immediately find yourself in a truly beautiful, peaceful setting. The room is fully equipped. The bathroom has a luxurious feel to it. A lovely, large, comfortable bath, stocked with all sorts of soaps. The little extras really make it special. Wood and charcoal are already laid out ready for a fire or barbecue; there’s mosquito repellent; fresh water is provided every day; and there’s a well-equipped kitchen if you wish to use it. It’s those sorts of details that really make it good value for money. We had a lovely time reading a book by the pool. It’s a really lovely spot for that. The breakfast is deliciously varied. On some days, there’s a choice of different breakfasts, such as eggs Benedict, the ‘Vredeburg’ breakfast and an omelette with all sorts of fried vegetables. You start every breakfast with a bowl of fresh fruit, a croissant and a coffee. The hosts and staff are very friendly and we’d love to come back again. Vredenburg Manor House is the perfect base for exploring the wine regions around Stellenbosch and Franschhoek.

Nothing.

It's beautiful, quiet and faraway from the hustle and bustle of the city, but it not value for money. The staff are very friendly and the place is warm and inviting. And you have your own private backyard if you choose the self catering option. But being that we spent the weekend exploring the area, we didn't spend much time at the manor which ultimately makes it not value for money. But besides all that it's a beautifully kept gem.

Because we explored we only slept in for a few hours each night and didn't get to experience the place fully, which makes it not a value for money to me. A full week stay is required to fully get that value for money.
