The best kept secret in Orleans

The host, Eugénie, was lovely, helpful and flexible with times. The location is perfect, almost on the river Loire and just a few minutes from the town center. The large, upstairs room also has a fridge, microwave and lots of places and space to relax in. The kitchen downstairs can also be used. The WiFi is extremely fast. A restored, 16th century home? What's NOT to love about this place...

NOT 'negatives', but you should know before you book... The 60 steps of the stairs are steep, winding and narrow. If you have large, bulky luggage, you will struggle. If you are fat, infirm or unhealthy, the stairs WILL be a challenge. Methods of payment at the property are bank transfer or cash. No credit cards. Bring your own USB plugs and long cables to use them.

Breakfast was available self service. But it was a pity to miss sitting at a cafe for breakfast!

Very nice hostess, clean room and very comfortable bed, hot shower and very close to river and all the sights. About a 15 minute walk from the metro.

Warning, the staircase is steep and there are a lot of stairs!

The upper room was spectacular wtih very comfortable bed, divan for reading/relaxing and desk. I spent 4 nights. Up steep 16c spiral staircase. (They helped with bag.) Breakfast in the Salon de The on ground floor. Lovely setting for breakfast but similar day to day. Great location. On edge of vieux quartier. I could see the river from my window, right on tram line, and easy walking to restaurants and stores. Also indoor food market very nearby. Would definitely stay again. Bureau de Tourisme not far with all the info you need on the city.

Nothing of note. Expect to get info on the city from the Bureau de Tourisme up the streeet. Pay in cash upon departure (not a problem!)

Very good

We appreciated the dedication of Monsieur Jean to the restoration and preservation of the building. His presentation of breakfast on the first floor in deference to our ages (76 and 80) was also appreciated. Jean was also very helpful with parking and dining suggestions.

The medieval spiral staircase was a challenge especially after a night on the town!

I had a great time! I recommend this place to everyone who wishes to discover Orleans! It's conveniently located in the heart of the city. Breakfast is really nice and the landlady prepares it even at the crack of dawn!

Séjour agréable au calme, très bien situé

La chambre était très spacieuse, située au 3éme étage. Séjour de 3 nuits pendant la canicule, un ventilateur était mis à disposition : parfait. Le meuble de salle de douche était superbe et très pratique. Le lit confortable et fait chaque jour. Le petit déjeuner avec croissant et thé ou café offert était fort apprécié, d'autant que je les prenais dans un petit jardin attenant, très agréable. L'accueil d'Eugénie et la disponibilité pour monter / descendre la valise étaient parfaits. Je reviendrais certainement pour tester les autres chambres ;-)

Il ne s'agit pas d'un défaut mais d'un ressenti que d'autres n'auront certainement pas : la douche manquait de luminosité pour moi.

Erholsamer Aufenthalt in einem historischen Haus mit einmaliger Architektur.

Sehr freundliche, hilfsbereite Gastgeberin. Wunderbar Möblierung passend zum historischen Haus. Sehr sauber. Tolle Matratze. Gepäck wurde in d 3.Stock gebracht. Grosser Raum, ruhig.

Das Haus ist ein Juwel mit viel Liebe saniert. Vom Bahnhof gut zu Fuß erreichbar. Geschichte wird in diesem Haus lebendig. Man sieht die Loire vom Fenster aus. Gastgeberin super freundlich

築400年か500年の古い建物だけど、長い螺旋階段と屋根裏部屋は長年の夢が叶ったようなロマンがあった。 Eugénieはとっても親切で、古くからの友人に会ったみたいな感じだった。
