Les Trois Maillets, Monument Historique

As I work in an historic monument it made a change to stay in one. My room was clearly family sized (over two floors) so there was ample space. The bed was very comfortable & there were two fans so very little chance of overheating during the night but as it was I didn't need to use either of them. The wifi was first class. The property is easy walking distance from the main sights of Orleans (cathedral, museum of fine arts, Joan of Arc's house etc.) and the old town bars & restaurants. It's equally close to a tram hub for trips further afield.

Be sure to read the small print - whilst paying for the stay in cash (unsure if my bank app would have facilitated an international transfer) was no problem I hadn't been aware that was the case until the day I was travelling to Orleans. If your mobility is not that good then the stairs up to the accommodation will likely be problematic for you.

Eine einzigartige Pension nahe am Zentrum / der Altstadt sowie am Flussufer in einer wunderschönen Stadt. Ich würde wiederkommen!! Habe die Gastgeberin nicht persönlich getroffen, über eine Vertretung und mittels Textnachrichten hat sie aber Bemühen gezeigt und vielerlei Service angeboten.

Das Frühstück war eher übersichtlich.

Das Haus ist eines der wenigen wirklich echten Häuser aus dem 16. Jh. in Orléans - die anderen wurden wiederaufgebaut. Die Treppe ist eine Herausforderung - für ältere Leute eher nicht geeignet. Das Haus hat einen aus der Zeit gefallenen, bohèmienhaften Charme. Eugénie schwebt durch die Räume wie aus einer anderen Zeit und nur Sylvain, der gute Geist und Freund des Hauses stellt den Übergang her in die heutige Zeit... Das Zimmer ist riesig und sehr schön - wer Modernität erwartet, liegt falsch. Wer Abenteuer und Romantik erwartet, ist an der richtigen Adresse. Frühstück ist glücklicherweise modern mit Croissant und Café.

Treppe ist abenteuerlich - Eugénie eher abwesend.

The host was exceptionally attentive. Each morning, I was provided with fresh coffee and a croissant. Fresh towels were supplied daily, and I received assistance with carrying my luggage both upon arrival and departure. The rubbish bin was also emptied every day. The great location, near the city centre.

In reality, the property is not as bright or as well-maintained as it appears in the photos. There was some dust in places, along with spider webs in the corners.
