    Clunky check in system could be much more user friendly - room excellent - location very central.

    At first I was put off by a self-check in system that takes your ID to verify, but after looking at other reviews my mind was put at ease. PROS: Location, decor, quiet, free breakfast (we noticed pastries and bread were available throughout the day as well), easy check in (there is a clearly marked sign out front that we missed, but that was user error. When we walked up to the door we could get on the hotel's free WiFi and checked my email for code access. Not a con but just an FYI: It's on a pedestrian street, so parking wasn't the easiest but we did find street parking with only an 11 minute walk.

    Third floor walk up room, no elevators!👎 Automatic Access System initially inoperative as could not send texts to US phones. Was able to access manually thanks to remote operator. The next day I was able to chat online and got an Email for access. Thereafter good. Excellent lounge and breakfast well handled by local manager. Very clean overall. Large room but needs more towel holders. Quite a good place if you have a room on the ground floor or first floor.

    Our stay here was really marred by the check-in process. First off, when we went to complete the online check-in, we never received the text the system said we would receive. When we ultimately called, we were told that was because the system was incompatible with US phones. We eventually got in after speaking to someone on the phone, but it probably took us almost 45 minutes to get in the door. Secondly, check-in in is at 4 and there is no option for an early check-in. They do offer secure luggage storage, but only for smaller suitcases, so we had to tote around our large suitcase for several hours even after eventually getting through the front door. Then we had another similar US phone system issue when we went to get the code for our door. Once we finally had access, our stay was fairly comfortable: the room was nicely remodeled and felt new, the hotel is well located, and the breakfast was very adequate. I'd just caution anyone with a large suitcase and/or a US phone about the cumbersome check-in process.

    This is a budget hotel that does not always have somebody at reception during the day, and they don’t answer their phone timely (25 -30 mins for a call back). They rely on your phone being charged and working perfectly to access the QR code, receive a text, and punch the code in to open the door. If something goes wrong with the technology, you’re screwed as I was left standing in the pouring rain for 20 minutes. A guest came out, went in to look around for an employee for 5 minutes and was unable to find anybody to help. They told us the QR code was also needed to access the room so if your phone isn’t receiving texts perfectly (36 hours later I still have not received the text with the code) you are stuck. They did call back about 30 minutes after my first call for help, but had already checked into a different hotel by that time. They also sent me messages after that saying it was my fault. Terrible customer service experience. I strongly recommend avoiding this place unless you want to rely on flimsy technology or risk getting stuck with no room (and up to this point no refund).

    Quaint hotel! Very clean and well maintained. Great location for walking the city, with many restaurants easily within walking distance. The included breakfast was an added bonus. Definitely recommend!

    Pros outweigh the cons, however … Pros - Charming, spacious ,spotlessly clean rooms in a converted 18th century building steps from the cathedral on the edge of the pedestrian zone of the historic old town. We had two adjoining rooms with a shared kitchen that we didn’t use, as they had a breakfast room with a sumptuous spread downstairs. Cons: Despite ten minutes on the phone with a rep, they couldn’t get us connected by text or email to their wireless, keyless entry system. The rep had to let us in remotely and get us set up with back-up physical keys. (There is no front desk.) We were on the fourth floor with no elevator, and the closest you can get to the front door in a car is a hundred yards or so - but there is safe spotless indoor parking next to the cathedral around the corner. If the check-in had been smoother it would have been four stars. Certainly a great value, in any case.
