The hotel is beautifully situated overlooking Loch Ness and the family room we stayed in was spacious and very comfortable. We enjoyed the choice of food at dinner and at breakfast. As we had our dog with us, we couldn't eat in the dining room but a table was kindly laid for us in the lounge instead.
We arrived at 2.30 pm (which was stated as the start time for booking in on our booking form) but they couldn't find a receptionist to book us in, so we had to go into Fort Augustus to look around for a bit, and then returned to the hotel later. However, all the staff were pleasant and helpful.

Nice cotton sheets, big bed, convenient location as a stop on our journey
Room was generously sized.
We made a bad choice of breakfast. ‘Porridge with honey and cream’ included lumps, which were unpalatable, no cream and ‘if you want honey, it’s on the table over there’.
Bathroom was literally a room containing a bath with electric shower over and toilet, with just about space to walk in. There was a washbasin in the bedroom.
