The view from the front lounge was amazing .
No view in room , breakfast was disappointing. Bar prices were expensive £7.50 a pint

Good breakfast
We would have liked a view of the loch from our room but the room view was very poor 😞

The outside of the building
The whole hotel is very tiered with worn carpets and a damp smell throughout.
The shower was filthy and could not be used. I did speak to the duty manager as we did not want to stay however he could not give us a refund as we booked it through booking.com

Location good, staff helpful and friendly. Food good.
Room didn’t match expectations as staying for a whole week and room was supposed to be a superior room but wasn’t what I was expecting for the money paid. Other rooms appeared larger. Our room at the top of the building and not luxurious but bed was comfortable. Menu was the same all week.

nice views over loch ness . very good staff . food more than adequate very relaxing a place to chill and drift away !
quite a way out from fort augustus and walking not recomended as there is no footpath along the narrow winding road to the centre . nearest taxi is 25 mins away so you have to drive in to the centre .

The food was lovely with kind efficient staff to make us welcome and comfortable. The hotel location is just out of town with a nice walk to the town and loch.
While having a shower the water was going between hot and cold without touching a tap.

Beautiful property inside and out. We had a two-room suite for a family of four, which was a pleasant surprise. The property has a bar and restaurant on site and a beautiful sitting room overlooking the loch. The beds were comfortable, and the room was clean. Dinner was absolutely stunning, and desserts were delicious.

the hotel has a great location and the food served was really good.
Rooms could of been better but it is an old hotel that started as a hunting lodge so rooms were made for that purpose. Staff while very polite and working hard there was like a one man show.

Loved the atmosphere and wonderful dinner and breakfast. Nice family room which fit us perfectly.
The shower was intermittent between warm and cold then scalding hot.

We stayed one night at this charming property and really enjoyed the peaceful atmosphere and beautiful views of Loch Ness. The location is fantastic—quiet and scenic, with lots of character in the building itself.
The only downside was that breakfast was included, but we had to leave early and weren’t able to enjoy it. Since we knew our departure time in advance, it would have been nice to have the option of a lower rate without breakfast. A small fridge in the room would also be a great addition for future stays.

Breakfast was nice.
Hospitality was good, the gentleman did all he could to make our stay good.
Could not open the door with the key. Took several attempts every time and had to jiggy the key lock to turn the key.
The sink was leaking water into the drawer underneath it. They need to fix it.

The staff are professional, impeccably dressed, and really polite and welcoming. The hotel was warm and had a welcoming atmosphere throughout with good background music. The dining room is lovely, nice cosy bar area with a large lounge on the the ground floor. The guest rooms were lovely and very comfortable and took up the next two floors. Breakfast was also excellent too. Both we and the kids thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. Thank you. The Morrisons :-)
That we had to leave so soon.

Everyone was lovely, the hotel was very clean and had a Scottish atmosphere that you don’t get in other hotels. Great 3 star hotel!

Beautiful old grand home converted to a hotel with two floors of rooms above the public area including bar, spacious but cozy sitting room and restaurant. Nice breakfast, (didn’t try dinner) friendly staff. Not in the town of Fort Augustus proper, but we walked to a restaurant by the locks, about a mile away. They accommodated our request for some rooms to have 2 separate single beds.
Bathroom was quite small. We were hoping to see Highland cows , as shown on website photos, but they are no longer in the pasture there (July 2024)

The hotel from the outside was absolutely stunning. Old fashioned decor and I liked how the room names were called after different lochs in Scotland. It was a 20 minute walk to Fort Augutus so location was handy and it had nice views.
They were able to keep my bike in a locked shed.
The breakfast was included, I think they were stingy with the portions.
The shower. There was very poor water pressure and any adjustments to the temperature it would end up either scalding or freezing.
The prices, the bar for a can of Irn Bru they were asking £3 and a pint was £6.50 I swiftly told them to keep the glass clean as that was too expensive for me.

Great location across from Loch Ness right outside Fort Augustus. I was disappointed with the service at the hotel, with the exception of Saskia, who did her best to make sure we had what we needed even when the housekeeping staff didn’t provide enough towels/tooletries. In the new room the bed was ok.
Overall I was disappointed with the service at the hotel, with the exception of Saskia, who did her best to make sure we had what we needed even when the housekeeping staff didn’t provide enough towels/tooletries. We booked a superior room and the first room we were given was up two flights of stairs at the far end of the hall and was clearly run down. In fact, a lot of the common areas could stand to be updated as well. When I complained we were moved to another room on a lower floor which was much nicer…but why was the first room offered to begin with? In the new room the bed was ok, but the toiletries were half empty and there was no soap at the sink. The tub shower had a plastic guard that only came 1/2 way across the tub, so when the shower was run it soaked the floor. There were no surfaces on which to put toiletries or personal items and nowhere to put luggage. Poorly designed room, but still better than the first one we were offered. Poor value for money.

from the moment we got there the staff couldn’t do enough. we really didn’t fancy a full meal so asked if they would do sandwiches and some chips and they did it absolutely no problem. The lady on reception was lovely and helpful and Saskia was lovely and helpful when we got stuck with our game of scrabble😂😂😂😂
