Apartment and locatoon excellent. Facilities and local services very good too.
Nothing springs to mind.

The building is exceptional and the apartment was very comfortable and clean. There was a lot of information to help plan our stay. You have to book your our pool time which was not an issue. The sauna and steam room were also great. The games room and grounds are amazing and the atmosphere around the place was very pleasant. The kitchen was very well equipped. It was a great place to spend New Years week.
Nothing it was amazing

We were here over the Christmas period but had everything we needed. Nice touch to have a Christmas tree in the flat. Pool was fabulous but sadly closed over the actual Christmas period so only got to use it once.
The only thing we didn’t like was the shower room. No heating whatsoever so absolutely freezing in December!

Location was great. Apartment was warm and comfortable. Swimming pool a great plus.
Lay out of the apartment was not great especially with a young child. Too many heavy doors to constantly having to open with 2 hands. dining room far too narrow for the size of furniture. No heating in shower room.

Beautiful old building in a fantastic location. Good sized apartment for a group, beautifully decorated and very comfy. Enjoyed the games room and grounds. Plenty of restaurants and shops within walking distance while still feeling like a quiet country location.
Took us a while to figure out how to get the toilets to flush properly. Main bedroom was a bit of a squeeze because the bed is so big.

Very comfortable and well equipped. There was plenty space for us and the location is amazing. We really enjoyed all the facilities.
Very minor but the mugs were very small!
Hard to fault anything.

The property had good facilities such as the swimming pool, table tennis and snooker. The grounds were beautiful, right on Loch Ness and a couple of minutes walk from the main part of Fort Augustus. The bottle of wine and goodies on arrival were much appreciated. The apartment was quiet and felt comfortable.
The mugs in the apartment were way too small, couldn't have a proper cup of tea in them. There was a lot of pressure to provide a specific check in time which is hard when you're travelling with a toddler. The booking system needs looking at as people will book and not turn up, my husband tried to book the gym but it said it was full, he went to check it out anyway and it was empty.

Clean. Lovely towels and bedding comfy
Tennis court needs refurbished

Could do with a coffee van/bar onsite.

The location
How long have you got?
This refers only to the apartment we were in- Old school 6.
The apartment was not well laid out - eating in the kitchen was not possible because if you cooked, the kitchen became too hot because there were no windows, inadequate extraction and a ban on opening the kitchen door with the threat of £250 if you opened the kitchen door and the smoke alarm was triggered .
I feel that £350 a night should support an apartment with no broken windows, curtains properly attached to their hooks, beds which are actually big enough for adults , furnishings and chairs which are unstained and not ‘ shoogly ‘ cutlery and crockery which doesn’t appear as if it’s come from the local charity shop. Can honestly say I’ve never stayed in such poor accommodation for that amount of money before.

Beautiful building and ground. Interesting place with interesting history but with all the modern convenances.
Great mix of historical charm and modern convenience.

The location was fantastic the gardens and grounds were amazing the kids loved watching the rabbits running everywhere. The apartment was big and comfortable and the pool area was awesome. Especially loved looking out to see Loch Ness
Not much we didn't like. The apartment was big and spacious only downside were the interior doors as they were really heavy. We were worried the kids would get stuck in the rooms as to heavy for them to open

convenient location, nice grounds, pleasant walks along the canal
Basement apartment, windows were completely overlooked by anyone in the car park, had to keep bedroom curtains closed at all times. Damp smells, both in the apartment and the corridor outside. Entrance lobby was filled with dirty laundry every morning. Bins for recycling and rubbish were overflowing and a long way to walk to when emptying apartment bins

Nice touch with a welcome bottle of wine and shortbread
The opening time for the swimming pool. We were not able to test the facilities because it closed at 6pm and we always arrived too late. plus you had to book so could not enjoy it.

Beds and pillows not comfortable and property needing a deeper clean

The room was in the basement of an old school building. The building itself was incredibly unique and perfectly situated on the banks of Loch Ness. The rooms were spacious. We were in a three bedroom/two bathroom apartment. And even though we were below ground, the rooms had very tall windows that looked out of doors.
Coming from the USA, we didn't realize just how small Fort Augustus is. There was really just one grocery store, in a gas station and a handful of restaurants. BUT, we had a wonderful time and enjoyed our stay there all the same.

Large, clean and comfortable rooms in a fantastic historic building. Great communal facilities including Swimming pool, sauna and steam room.

A beautiful setting and a building with a fascinating history. Despite ugly extensions the original buildings are really interesting. Having two apartments to accommodate the extended family, one was considerably nicer than the other which was not so well laid out or roomy despite being able to have more people in it using a pull down couch in the sitting room. Lots of land around the buildings for outdoor pursuits if the weather is good. It was especially wet and cold while we were there but we still got out enough to admire the stunning views and nearby eating places. Food and groceries can be delivered. Quite a few places to go within easy reach by car. Great countryside for rambling.
Need lot of warm clothes as inside could be quite chilly due to height of ceilings in the rooms and the small radiators. Being a very old building that is not too surprising. Due to remaining Covid regulations the swimming pool has to be booked and children need supervised. Not always easy to find the sports equipment for badminton, tennis etc. Probably better to take ones own rackets etc. Accepting it is not a hotel and self catering should keep expectations realistic.

Clean, spacious and well equipped apartment. Beautiful setting on the banks of Loch Ness with a lovely village right on the doorstep.
Its a shame the Boathouse restaurant was closed, no one knew why. It is on site but not run by the Highland Club, so was out of their control. Perhaps it should be!
