Amazingly traditional & welcoming

The overall building is amazing, it's like walking into a 1700s period drama. The staff are wonderful, a great breakfast is supplied with free coffee too. The rooms are top notch with very comfy beds. And the location is right where you need it to be, in the middle of the old town. Also there's cats chilling outside

Absolutely nothing. Everything was miserable and dirty. The staff was rude.

The food was old and moldy. The room was cold and the beds were awful.

The employee who can’t speak English tried to help me and always smiled.

The old house with all the decorations is so nice, most importantly , it is managed/cleaned well.

The swing of AC is too strong, which in some beds would feel too much wind.

Excellent Place To Stay

Excellent Hostel! Loved the old historic building! Great staff, very clean, large showers, heated rooms but not common area, Great Breakfast, great location.

The road is very heavy stones. Difficult to impossible to roll luggage. There are some sidewalks but they are hit and miss. Fortunately it is not that far from the main road but it is uphill. If you have more than a backpack or heavy luggage, this may not be the place for you? Mattress dips in the middle so it makes it uncomfortable. May be ok for a night or two? WiFi is not that great

What a find!!

Sooo friendly, and historic. In the centre of Plovdiv old town. There was a welcome board with my name on! And a Roman wall in the breakfast room too!

Fabulous

The hosts were helpful and did everything in order that clients feel comfortable and taken care of. They even created personalized welcome signs and you could reach them, whatever issue you had. A clean and cozy breakfast room and, of course, everything was clean everywhere. I guess this is one of the best "hostels" I have ever been to, and I have been in some. A great place!

Lovely hostel, great location, helpful and friendly staff.

The staff were lovely. Lady on the Reception was particularly kind and let me have free tea and coffee (I didn’t have the breakfast). Communication was excellent. The owner was in timely contact and sent me clear instructions how to self check/in as my bus didn’t arrive till 10pm. Even sent videos of how to use coded doors, etc. Location was excellent. A short walk to the main sights. Half an hour to the bus station. In the Old Town, near craft shops and Tourist Information. Hostel was clean, room huge, bed comfortable. Highly recommend.

It is a nice hostel experience, in a great location.

The location was really good, in the centre of old town. The beds were good. The building is cool.

There weren’t enough sanitary facilities. There was only one bathroom for the whole floor. The price was a little bit expensive, breakfast wasn’t included. The price was just too expensive for a hostel & what we got.

Best location, center of center ! Kalina was very kind and helpful so does the owner Hristo. It was very welcoming and comfy stay . Highly recommend!

Nice for a night

The old building and the decor. The staff was really nice above all Kalina who received us. The guest house is really clean.

There's nobody from 5pm looking after the premises. There was a group of young guys being super noisy after 2am, using the bathroom dedicated to the rooms on the ground floor when there are two.toilets and showers just below. My friend didn't sleep all night long.

Disappointed

Breakfast was very nice. Homemade lemonade a very nice touch. Good location in Old Town. Courtyard was a nice place to be. Kitchen and bathrooms kept very clean.

Only 2 sinks shared between many people... bathrooms too busy at times. Booking.com automatically cancel your reservation if there is a problem with payment details. We had problems with this and my partner had to leave the hostel partway through our trip. Owner was rude and unhelpful in response to our problems. Apparently it wasn't a priority for them to tell us when a bed became available last minute... they prioritise making money over having happy customers. Half the dormitory beds are among exposed ruins in the basement. Fluorescent lights, damp smell, hospital beds. Don't believe all the photos you see on the advert. I would be disappointed to pay this price if I were in this room.

A beautiful gem in the Old Town of Plovdiv

What a gem! We loved the central location, very kind welcome feom the staff (Kalina was so kind & helpful!) It felt like staying in a museum. The common spaces inside and the outdoor patio were welcome spaces to relax. Our kids loved the lemonade!

A warm welcome!

There was a welcome sign for me in the reception when I entered! The building and rooms are full of character, and the girl on reception, Kalina, was so lovely and friendly!

Great hostel in perfect Old Town location.

Old town location perfect. Parking close by. Spacious rooms, in historical house, furnished accordingly. Nice outdoor courtyard with communal Summer kitchen area. Welcome notice pinned up for individual guests, very friendly and helpful staff, who were also kind to my dogs. Relaxed atmosphere, but well organised, so no unsociable noise after hours and strict rules regarding access to anyone without a key. Great breakfast.

Parking can be tight when busy.

A+ location, grand old room hostel experience

Prime location, with attentive directions from staff for checking in late, easy to be able to park on old city. A large room for family so best hostel experience for family not used to it.

The beds are small and not so large, they do the job, have to decide if open windows or risk mosquitos. Definitely remember it’s a hostel setup if normally don’t travel in these.

Perfect location. Really cool old building. Super nice staff. Nice breakfast. Lovely outdoor garden with tables and chairs and an outdoor kitchen. Good beds. Huge lockers! Strong hot water. WiFi is fairly weak.

Our third tine here, we love it, so full of character and charm and the staff are so freindly. Perfectly located in the old town. Parking works well provided you organise it with them as you will need special access into the restricted old town. Can be a bit difficult to find by car.

This was my favorite hostel in Bulgaria out of three I stayed in this month. The building is historic and located right in Old Town. I was greeted with warmth and enthusiasm. The staff and other guests were really friendly and helpful. I was impressed that cold water and lemonade was available free of charge throughout the day. I also appreciated that the breakfast was included. The coffee was delicious. The bed was not a bunk bed and was wide and comfortable. There was a sufficient number of showers and toilets. I felt like this was my home while I was staying here!

I could have used a blanket one night when it got a bit chilly; I just had a sheet (but in August overall this was enough). The shower drains were a little slow. Walking up and down the hill on the cobblestone streets to and from the hostel was a bit tricky even in sneakers in dry weather.

Good experience but some work to do

The check-in was 5-star - personal welcome and recommendations. The bed was good and the room looks ancient in a good way. Free lemonade.

Already told the host, I was in room #3 and there were two very noisy fridges right in front of it which made it hard to sleep. Also, the breakfast was prepared in a nice way, however the fruits and cheese didn't seem fresh anymore (can see it one the picture) and the butter was rotten as well. After asking for another butter, I got a 2nd rotten one. Last thing, please get some window blinds, it is really bright already in the early morning...

Superb

The location is amazing. One step out of the door and you are in Plovdiv's old quarter. We also appreciated the friendly and accomodating staff. Do try the home-made lemonade. I absolutely loved the authentic interiors.

Well located and very beautiful hostel with shared rooms. Clean shared bathrooms. Self catering area. Ok breakfast. Nice welcoming sign.

No airconditioning in our room (there is only one room without AC) and temperatures of 38 degrees.
