Loved the onsen and fireworks

The food in the dinner buffet was below average. Large varieties but only low quality food was served.

Location is excellent

The pillows are to soft, nearly flat and only one pillow. Not comfortable.

Location on the lake with a view, proximity to some shops and eateries, and a convenience store. No early check-in but secure luggage self lock up area. Lakeside fireworks nightly. Onsen was good.

Dinner buffet was rather subpar, both in choices, ingredients and not tasty. Breakfast better. Room had Tatami or rug smell, made you want to avoid staying in the room. Left window open to air the room with little help (but in cold weather, would be hard to do). Hall carpet old, walls stained, fixtures old. Foreign staff friendly. Some Japanese front desk staff were somewhat more dismissive than my usual experience in Japan. Foreign staff were more friendly. Also, hotel thought reservation was for two nights, but second night was canceled for free before the trip started, then got Booking.com sent review for second night. Will be careful of Booking.com debiting the account...refund action may take time and confuse the automatic systems...
