Toyako Manseikaku Hotel Lakeside Terrace

Facility is good, Onsen water excellent, basement is too shallow, but 8th floor is excellent! Got initial room with cigarette smell, went down to check-in, all sorts of excuses, but untimately came up, said smoking area is close by, should air out, I said we kept door open while I went down to get them but smoke smell still there. They got a triple room but just mattresses on the floor, less comfortable and not renovated other than bath bowel that was not well placed. Food was good, could be better, trying to make money from alcohol, using a lots of "chefs" is good show, but actual food product...so so. But, the location and ambience can't be beat!

Smokey room, did best to accomodate. Crowded place. Hire more front desk. Some basic maintenance men to fix tiles outside etc...

The central location of the hotel enable us to enjoy the evening fireworks from inside the room. The size of the room was also very generous and spacious. The breakfast and dinner were very high quality and outstanding.

For the price we paid we felt that the facility was rather dated and needed a rennovation.

It seemed to be overcrowded during my stay in mid-July. Staff seemed to be overloaded thus not very helpful. The room interior was quite old, the windows had stains, the toilet was tiny (supposed most people would use the onsen), the AC was barely on and there was no way to adjust the temperature. There was no bathroom slippers. Good views though if you select lake side rooms.
