Great historical hotel in the center

Real oldschool hospitality, nice breakfast! Looks a bit like going back to history, but in a good way. Pretty central location.

I just filtered by "parking", didn't check the details. Parking means public, it is available in the street next to the hotel, but it is in the paid zone. It wasn't a problem at all (and pretty cheap), but you need to pay between 8-18. I used the EasyPark app.

Beautiful little gem near the old town of Klagenfurt.

I loved the Austrian old world charm. Beautifully decorated, comfortable, and cosy with a wonderful helpful host.

Very nice hotel stay at Cityhotel Ratheiser.

The owner Sonja was very kind, helpful and informative. The room was cleaned nearly every day. There was a hairdryer and plenty of cupboard space and bathroom cabinet space. The hotel has an oldy worldy charm but with mod cons.

Nightmare with Franz Joseph I

Lady was very, very polite and room was clean.

Place looks like a mausoleum, smells like it too, like my great grandmother' chest when we opened it after 40 years. Room had a bathroom on the first floor, but then you had 2 more floors to climb up a winding metal staircase to get to the bedroom. Nightmare scenario for anybody with a prostate problem, fear of heights, and got forbid, diarrhea. Room had no air-conditioning and with an outside temperature of around 30C, the room resembled a sauna dedicated to the last Habsburg Emperor, whose portraits adore every square meter of available wall. The carpets and furniture must be of the same age with the Emperor. Needless to say, we packed our stuff and went to a normal hotel, with air-conditioning, where the toilets is next to the bed and not a climbing adventure away. My advice: Don't even think about it.

Like staying at a friend house. Very nice.

When I walked into lobby, I thought I was in somebodys home. This is an old home converted into a hotel. I was amazed. Looks like a lot of the old house was still in use. Big bedroom. Big bathroom and shower. Near city center and bus stop was directly across the street. The 2 ladies on the staff were very nic, friendly and helpful. Even had a well furnished sitting room. Good breakfast and coffee.

Intriguingly nice hotel

From the moment you enter, despite the common facade, there is something fascinating about this hotel. As if in a time capsule. Beautiful, comfortable, old fashioned rooms. Intriguing, ornamented hallways. Walking distance is just five to ten minutes from the city heart of Klagenfurt.

There might have been more fish or vega breakfast options.

The room was clean and the bathroom was nice.

You can hear a lot of noise from other rooms, like a baby crying the whole night. The staff was not willing to help with the situation. Finally we got a partial refund after complaining.

Very accommodating staff who kindly helped to rectify a late night challenge we had. Rooms were huge, absolutely perfect for family members of all ages. Ample room if needing space for luggage or hiking or biking gear. Bathrooms modernised. Overall very clean with a nice historical feel and unique decrotive features through out and in the rooms. Easy breakfast at a very fair price, great coffee. A self serve policy for some canned drinks, accounted for at the end of the stay. Location less than 5 minute walk into town with a super market one street away.

Small hotel in old Austria style, simple but very convenient, the city centre in walking distance, good breakfast included, great staff. Altough without own parking lot, it was possible to find space nearby on the street. Very good value for budget oriented traveller.

Habsburg-style hotel close to the Innenstadt

The hotel is located pretty close to the old town (ten minutes on foot to the main square) and should be the perfect choice for all those who want to take a trip down memory lane to the days of the last Habsburg emperors. The decorations have a very pronounced theme, concentrating on the final decades of Austria-Hungary. The atmosphere of late 19th century is very convincing but don't let it discourage you, the bathrooms are modern, large and full of light while the beds sizeable and comfortable so if you plan to visit Klagenfurt it may be a good choice, something just slightly unconventional.
